W Ell, duh, they all talk like 'dis, makin' sammiches and being wicked MIT
Massachusetts managed to unite New England as well as take over Nova Scotia as the Republic of New England. Then both Boston and Halifax got nuked in the 1980's war.
Europe was opened for play around 2000 (game year), though the boundries were drawn more like the heyday of monarchies in the Rennaisance/Englightenment era. Spain was more or less doing a Second Inquisition and was a key component of the Catholic Alliance (along with the Third French Empire and the Kingdom of Italy). Spain then invaded and annexed Portugal around 2017 or so, which led to a direct conflict with NETO (Northern Europe Treaty Organization - chiefly a British republic and a technocratic Prussia) that devolved into a war with so many WMDs used everything from the Pyrranies to the English-Scottish border to about Berlin and south to Rome was pratically sarin-gassed wasteland.
South America was opened for play around the late 1980's or early 90's - the mod tried a colonization system where already-present countries could colonize a given territory, alongside a handful of local powers (among these was me - I was in Caracas for a few years). This eventually didn't play out too well, so the system was revised when Africa opened up in 2014 (game year).
Someone managed to unite pretty much all of Central America except Mexico but including the Yucatan, the Caribbean except Cuba, and northern South America into the Federation of the Caribbean.
Alaska eventually got annexed by money into Cascadia. Hawaii was on its own for a while, then Honolulu and Hilo got nuked by Chile.

@space - if you're talking about the Caribbean Federation, no, it was some art nouveau sun-inspired thing.
I think Hartford also got nuked.
I also remember the Azores hosting what was left of the Portuguese government, supported by Japanese troops.
