Who is Dogma?
Also Ferg probably a good idea to give him a more say. Evil opinion about things.
Some things considered wholly evil:
Subjugating everything by force.
Enjoying suffering.
Being completely devoid of empathy.
Some traits eldritch beings might have:
The big one is not knowing nor caring about Mortal thought patterns.
Haughtiness. Intentional assholish haughtiness.
Being an Alien Alien.
Not that he has to be all those things, but they're just suggestions for improvement.

Well, he does sign pledges, but no one in the room is dumb enough to strike such a deal. Otherwise, he has no reason to be evil for the sake of being evil.
@Jam: But that's not an improvement. The whole point is that he has no need to be a pointlessly petty dick when he can lift a pinky and level Mount Everest that way.
And, as his earlier conversation with Sayaka can attest, he does enjoy when people just kinda throw their soul away. Or when they try to run as he or his underlings hunt him down.

I mean the Kevin James movie.
If you forgive me for being presumptuous, Ferg, I'm assuming BAG'S character is "Cosmic Entity who's basically just a normal schlub on his days off."
But he'll act that way for a bit, drinking beers and watching TV, and then on the same page he'll suddenly become "All-Knowing Cosmic Entity, Ever-wise in the affairs of mere mortals" and spout philisophical stuff.
You can't mix these two things together, because when you do he comes off as, well...a pretentious know-it-all. Not an average joe with a COSMIC day job.

Put simply, he just seems annoyingly pretentious and devil-may-care.
He's asking all these questions, yet doesn't seem at all fascinated or affected by the answers he's getting. More like just "Meh. Heard it."
Just telling me "But he has heard it" doesn't change the fact that it's an annoying attitude.
He has seemingly very little intentional flaws, as well, and that's also irritating.
That, too. They don't mix. At all.

What we want you to do is have him act in a way that makes sense. He asks all these questions for the sole purpose of saying "lol i knew that already", and just keeps asking them. This has nothing to do with personality. It has to do with the fact that you are trying to mix two traits that are completely contradictory. You are making him seem dumb because he keeps asking questions to spout fedora-wearer phrases.
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistOkay, no.
Why can't we all operate on basic logic here? How is he knowing anything already if he's asking questions?
As a fedora wearer, I'm taking offense to that last one, but apart from that, my main question is that I feel hasn't been answered yet: why can't those two mix? What is wrong with mixing those?

Spaz already explained this. They're completely contradictory.
He's doesn't seem like a relatable, affable guy. He seems like an Evil Entity who is replacing just straight-up causing violence or tempting souls with spouting nihilistic philosophy and answering questions he asks other people. And also drinks beer and watches TV.

They can't mix because an Avarage Joe is an Average Joe, he's someone the audience can relate too. Someone with problems and gripes that the audence understands. The audience can't relate to a Cosmic God because they don't think or act like a Cosmic God. The Cosmic God doesn't have relateable problems he had Cosmic problems that no one but him gets.

Yes, those two are seemingly contradictory. They can be fused however, mixed into one bag. 'sides, he doesn't really have problems, considering he's one of the biggest active - well, semi-active - names of the universe, if not the biggest? It's all peachy keen with him.
I mean, I don't see why a character supposedly needs a problem to be a good character.

What flaws are you expecting him to have?
Also, what is a good example?
