It sounds like it could get annoying if you switch them around based on who she can and can't interact with.
Personally, I think you should just stick with one of them and try it out instead of juggling the two. Can't Spirit Tracks Zelda possess things anyway? If she can, just play around with that. If not... a character that can't really interact isn't really great for using in the room, in my opinion.
But that's just my two cents on the matter.

Dunno man. I think the problem is that Griffin is usually so detached from the rest of the room and it's events that there's little reason to interact with him.
