As your new GM, I require a blood sacrifice by tonight to commemorate my new regime. Speaking the words "Dirge" and "Cerberus" separated by an "or" is punishable by death.
In all seriousness, assuming we can all be responsible from now on, I don't think anything needs to be changed as of yet. However, there is one thing I want to make very clear. I thought it could go as an unspoken rule, and I have said it before, but I think this needs to be said again.
Shut up or contribute.
Allow me to elaborate on this a little.
Contributing means:
- Offering criticism in a constructive manner.
- Not jump on the fingerpointing bandwagon for the sake of adding noise without adding any actual points.
- Offering solutions whenever possible, or at least trying to guide people towards them.
- Ask for criticism when you know we can actually give you some.
Shutting up means:
- Not going "-Hides in a box-", "-Ninja vanishes from all the scary yelling-", "Can we please drop this/change the subject? -Halfway through the discussion-".
- Not making snarky comments that add nothing.
- Turning the all caps off. They are not cruise control for cool. Since when did we decide /b/ was a good place to take advice from?
- Not posting reaction images on how you're escaping all the scary yelling people.
- Not trolling afterwards for "comedic" effect.
And remember: just because we tell you something in a calm tone of voice does not mean you can disregard it and it isn't a big deal because we didn't cram it down your throat. We are using the calm tone of voice because it's a hell of a lot better than the other tone, which you know you have to listen to because everyone is getting their heads bitten off. Can't we just listen the first time when everyone isn't mad for blowing off the "no big deal" advice?
Sorry for not being able to post much. Babysitting. Will try to be on more in a bit.
