It is clear that Final Fantasy and Mass Effect will be forever entwined.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Believe it or not, that's not actually a staple of the series. Nor are giant swords. That association came from Cloud and VII.
Interestingly enough, the dirty futuristic look you see there also came from Cloud and VII.
@Norm: Jenova = Organic Reapers.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistObviously.
Just checked the trivia page for Spirits Within.
The guys working on ME were big fans of the movie, so it seems it was very much a conscious decision.

What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?IX is good, but it isn't the best introduction to the series. I would recommend V. Simple enough plot, fun characters, and it has a lot of gameplay elements that many of the other games in the series have. It is, in my opinion, the best FF game there is. VII is a very, very close second, but the complexity that the story has can be a little hard to get into if you don't like the gameplay first. The shoddy translation doesn't help matters.
Everyone needs to drop what they are doing right now and go play FFV.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistOkay, Spaz. New game.
I name a Mass Effect character and you provide an FF equivalent, then vice versa.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?I think I played FFV The After Years before
it was fun, but it got too hard for my tastes
I was ten back then, so that might've changed. uvu
Speaking of Mass Effect, I heard they're realeasing a fourth one.
For the PS 4, for that matter.

GO AHEAD .... MR. JOEHSTUR .......@Norm: Go for it.
@Lior: Ah. In that case, definitely VII. It starts out slow, but once you get out of Midgar, it gets waaaaaaay better. (Also, I may have spoiled some stuff to hell and back for you, but since you haven't been here long, hopefully you haven't been exposed to that much.)
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistOkay then. Oh, and... if you see something in the text that looks like English, but somehow doesn't seem quite right? It's because it probably isn't.
If you can work through that, though, the way they work in foreshadowing is actually pretty clever. There's a lot of stuff hidden in what seems like innocent (if not slightly creepy) chitchat that you don't catch the first time through.
It's for the PlayStation, so you may have to play it on an emulator.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistAccording to the people I've asked, copies are hard to come by even in the States. I was lucky enough to find mine for fifteen dollars or something at an old game store, but copies can go for a hundred online easily just because they're so hard to find. Easier to just download the damn things.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistIf this article is to be believed
, VII has already been re-released on PC.
They didn't update anything, unfortunately.
Nothing seems to have changed. But perhaps one day it will.

i'm laughing at the title
that doesn't look anything like final fantasy
needs more gravity defying hair
GO AHEAD .... MR. JOEHSTUR .......
