GO AHEAD .... MR. JOEHSTUR .......Can I point something out? In a completely civil manner, with absolutely no hostility?
This is what I was talking about yesterday (though I now have about 90% less rage). The "bubble" thing. I'm trying to have Nayru interact with Cloud, and it almost seems like Spazz and Jam team up to shove me out of it. I feel excluded (and yes, I know Jam did the shoggy tickle thing and that was funny, but still).
What Jam said.
Also, I'm not trying to brush off interaction. I actually kind of like what's happening now with Nayru, even if it is going by a bit sluggishly.
Having said that... I am not sure if I am just being paranoid again, but... have I messed up Cloud? Has he gotten into unlikeable douche territory?
EDIT: If it seems like I'm trying to brush you off, it's only because I don't want Nayru potentially magicking the problem away.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistYou should have picked up by now that unless Cloud is close to another character he's going to avoid issues like that. He barely brings up his problems with people he actually likes. Alot of my character know hm well enough to pick up on things like that. Cloud pushing Nyaru away, not Spaz pushing Rando away.
IC interacton =/= OOC feelings.

Cloud never really suceedes unless there's some kind of cost.
Never seen him lose a fight.
Spaz doesn't like to write fights but yeah Cloud's about one of the best fighters in the Room. And he's never really fought a character that could actually beat him. Save for guys like Jack.
He can instantly do whatever he wants.
No he can't. Cloud's abilities come from lots of training or hardship that was spread of 12,000 pages he's more like a Big Good than a protagonist at this point.
Has broken the rules with no repercussions on several occasions.
Just about everyone has a character that has done this.
Has informed flaws that we don't see (claims to be a loser but has killed gods, says he's an idiot but is a magic prodigy, claims he isn't brave but stood up to Sephiroth and Azathoth).
You don't see them because Cloud is good at hiding them. If you pay attention they come out. And I believe that Spaz has said that if you want to get something out of Cloud you have to pry. Most people just give up. As for the brave thing. That's actually part of self-hate thing that he has going on. You would hate yourself too if you caused the deaths of billions of people and were entrely aware of the fact that a lot of that was sacrifced so you can have a good life.
Has had several What the Hell, Hero? moments he wasn't called out on.
This isn't Spaz's fault. When ever Cloud goes on the black side of things, you guys all ignore/go "What was that?" and move on to more shenanigans.

PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850- Examples? I usually go out of my way to make sure he fucks up at least once a month. And part of that, I can't control, as others decide whether or not I succeed.
- I beg to differ. Also, I rarely have him get involved in fights these days, anyway.
- Wha?
- More examples?
- Those aren't Cloud's flaws. Those are what Cloud thinks are his flaws. Cloud is an unreliable narrator. Cloud is in fact very clever and usually brave. Cloud's actual flaws are:
- He has essentially zero self-confidence. He thinks he is a loser due to fuckups in the past, and his tendency to be a perfectionist and blame himself for everything. (Killed The Blind Idiot God himself, yes, but was more concerned about letting Fen get nabbed to begin with. You suck, Cloud! Why can't you do anything right?)
- He excludes others close to him from his life in an effort to protect them, which winds up hurting them more than if they were told what was going on.
- He doesn't cope with trauma very well.
- He is selfless to the point where it actually winds up hurting him more than it does helping him.
- He does not trust very easily, and the few people he does trust still wind up excluded from many things.
- He is batfuck insane.
- Cloud, in a way, is a coward. Half the time, when faced between the right thing and the easy thing, he'll pick the easy thing, fearing the consequences of him messing up the more difficult option.
- There are more, but this is a brief list.
- I can't help that either, and actually is something I was going to bring up to you guys later. You need to have your characters call him out on shit. Those moments are very intentional, but as I mentioned a few thousand pages previously, it is no fun playing a morally ambiguous character if there is no ambiguity. I give you guys the fuel. You need to light the spark. Cloud will call himself out on occasion, but other times he sees himself as in the right, and will not.
Ninja'd. All of this.
