FERG AND BADGER'S TOP 3 OFFICIAL FORUM GAME GRIPES AND GRIEVANCES
Super important gripe #3!
The Forum Game has deviated extremely, extremely, far from its original, casual roots. Everything seems to be all serious business now when it comes to it.
Now, being a free form game (I'll be touting this particular phrase a lot so pay attention for it), its natural evolution with the assistance of its players has allowed it to become a mini RP altogether.
Well, this is all well and good. It's fun after all! However, see the thing is...it's lost a good amount of it's casual flavor. That's not necessarily bad, but it means people are more likely to get on other people's grill a lot of the time. Rules are perfectly essential of course, but we feel the perspective players are taking the Forum Game is changing. Which leads us to...
Super important gripe #2!
We personally feel that critique and writing quality is being prioritized a little too hard.
Now, of course, far be it from us to dismiss good writing. Good writing is very, very welcomed. And criticism is always appreciated as long as it is constructive. However, take a look what happened when critiquing got out of hand.
Now, to use Chrissie as an example...
Many of you already know that you find his character Griff to be an unlikeable sleazebag. Fair enough. He most certainly is. But Chrissie is still having fun writing him, and a few other players are still having fun writing off of him. Unless he caused extremely disruptive IC problems like Majora, I don't see just how badly this needed to be addressed.
It can be addressed, yes, but must it be in the way it went down earlier?
Chrissie hasn't been taking his writing advice seriously, and has failed to acknowledge. This I acknowledge too. Is it really that important that his standard of writing rise that much? He's having fun, other players are having fun, and the players who aren't having fun with his character can request that he use other characters on occasion, or just stick to the characters they DO have fun writing off of.
And finally...
Super important gripe #1!
Spazz.
Random.
You two need to settle your differences.
Not sugar coating anything here. You guys have had vitriol with each other for a loooooooong time. And it's because of this vitriol that things escalated to the levels they did.
The main issue here seems that you both take issue with the other's RP'ing style. I'm sure you both have seen the examples already.
Hell, once it was even mentioned that Random's "Arena mentality" caused issues, no? Aha! Clashing RP'ing styles!
In a free form game like this (well, turns out I didn't use this term as much as I thought I would, heh) we welcome everybody (except Wugga) to have fun. People should be allowed to write how they want. However, what happens when two different styles inevitably interact and rub each player off the wrong way?
This is not unfixable. So bottom line, you two really need to work out your differences. If you don't, we'll face another blow up like yesterday.

It's alright! Just don't let something like this happen again, okay? uwu
