I actually still have a lot of fun with both the FG and RP. Do you want to know why? Because I have my characters get off their asses and do shit.
I am not sorry for saying this in the least. You want to know what's really missing people doing things. All the way from when, I finally made the transition from some random godmodding asshole to actually kinda competent witer, up until Azathoth's Death I spent the majority of my time here thinking up scenarios to put Cloud and the others through. Now I was in no way the only person to be doing this but I think I can safely say I've done it more than any one else. And never once did I ask for permission or worry about whether it was gonna be fun or not because I knew it was fun and awesome because people participated in it or at least wanted to.
Nobody does stuff anymore. I know this because after Azathoth was done I was actually kinda tired of playing pseudo-GM so I decided to fnally make Alt!Fen into a regular and have character that other people can do stuff to. And you know what happened? Jack diddly squat. I had to step in and make most of Alt!Fen's challenges. Because you guys we're all afraid you were gonna piss off Jam or something. Spaz once said that ideas are the lifeblood of the FG. You guys are starving the FG by holding back your ideas because you think you're gonna get yelled at.
And honestly you know what I think was the final nail in the coffin? The conflict between Spaz and Rando. Rando and Stone, I'm sorry, you're great guys and all but you came in here with that arena mentality and found someone having fun in a way you didn't get and instead of letting them go about their business you guys complained and complained and raised such stink because somehow Spaz's fun was preventing you from having fun. And that set the precedent for future interactions in the FG and here for all the new folks. Everyone is walking on eggshells because they don't want to "ruin each others fun", and spark another conflict like what happened between Spaz and Rando which we're still reeling from today. I can't even play Alpha!Fen anymore because she reminds me so much of that time and Spaz is nervous wreck.
People honestly, fuck all that C-could I please do this? P-pretty please? Okay nevermind! If you think of something, do it. This is a game on an internet forum and its controlled by your imagination! You know all those stupid games that say the only limit is your imagination but really that's bullshit? Not here! We mean it. As long as you follow the rules, which are really more like common courtesy than anything, you can do whatever the heck you want! And if you get critiqued on your writing skill along the way, BONUS!
This is not a measure of your self worth, this is a game for your entertainment.
This is not a test of your writing skills, this is a tool by which you can get better
This is a great game that you all are somehow participating in without actually playing it!
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850what happened with Spaz? I've been out of the loop for while, been occupied with kicking ass barley surviving massive rebellions in EU 3.
And Jam brings up a relevant issue. Thank you Jam.
But then again, isn't an oversaturation of big events another big problem? Yes, jam brings up a relevant point, but if everyone is bringing in major events and ideas that greatly effect the characters willy-nilly, well, more problems may abound.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiWe need to strike a balance, somehow.
It might not be easy, but the sooner we start trying, the sooner this FG will become fun again.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Jam, thank you. Someone has needed to say that for the longest time.
I do agree, we need events, yes. Original ones. Not the vanilla crap that we've had recently. Put some space between them, too.
Now, I think we have our ducks in a row. Let's find a bunch of solutions for a bunch of problems!

IS THAT ME? AM I THE MOM?@Badger: I think it really just comes down to asking yourself "Does it seem like a good time to spring this on people now?" If Y, just proceed. If N, don't. Yeah?
@Hig: I, uh, actually was building up a small little list of proposed solutions earlier. I'll just put it up in a little bit.
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's mean@Badger: This might be a little naive and trusting of me, but I think we can collectively gage how much action we want/don't want without doing much enforcing. If there's too much happening, I think we can trust everyone to naturally let off a bit and let it reach equilibrium. The same if too little's happening. I might be off base here, though. What say y'all?
Please do. That'd be great. :)

and then they fricked in the bootyActually, I've got a brief issue to bring up, once again related to new players.
Y'know how in most Forum Games, new players refer to the first post for general rules?
Right now, the first post in the FG is just "Like the forum thread one except they're together." This suggests a very casual game, and I feel it doesn't reflect the current state of the game that well, thus resulting in the whole new players getting more than what they bargained for thing.
"Shake the dust." - Anis Mojgani

I don't really think there's a problem with the dark levels in the FG or the RP, to be honest.
What Badger said.
