Wait, you pay to go to conventions?

Is it a Saturday pass or 3-day?

Separately, Spaz that really isn't the right argument to make for going or not going.

[up]For any of decent size, yeah. Anime Central I pay out $60 just for the weekend pass.

Is Chicago too far?

[up]She may go to local ones run by university anime clubs - is that correct?

I've been to comic cons before, but then-

Male privilege so I don't notice it.

Though comic con last year was interesting-

Random kids asked to take a photo with me.

I wasn't even in cosplay.

is your hobby being creeped on

seriously i'm starting to agree with ideas why are you even going

there are ways to enjoy your hobbies that don't involve being groped or stabbing people

Cons need to rent the space and pay the speakers and organize the commercial vendors. Comiket is rather the exception for its size.

Comic con is exciting for other reasons though.

Like events- and going around the shop floor.

All the merchandise and such.

Also kinda for seeing all the cool cosplay people put time into.

And you can discover stuff that you would never have heard of otherwise because artists often have stands at conventions advertising their comics or just their work in general- getting commissions there.

I know two of my friends commissioned art whilst at a comic con.

My dad's dropping me off since it's a bit out of my walking range.

I'll still have to walk a block or two but that's not too bad

Yep. My dad rented a hotel room nearby for his own purposes, so it all works out well enough.
