Still, as nice as having a livable minimum wage would be, Americans are going to reject anything that even vaguely smells of socialism on principle. His ideas aren't practical and won't be for another twenty years.

I prefer the 'judgement day' doctrine. Nuke everyone, end the world, those that survive get to rule.

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

The US is already somewhat socialist.

I'm still voting for Zoltan in November. And I do vote in Senate elections - Jersey just doesn't have any up for election this time around.

[up]Before we proceed further, define "socialist".

Then.... as much as I joke about Americans dick waggling, I would actually side with Hillary's foreign politics.

So much of the worlds defence policies are based around "Captian America World Police" ours included.... That the lack of that would seriously screw over world politics.

i dunno i think he could do well

bernie and trump both have been doing pretty well, way more than anyone expected

because at this point the american peoples trust in their government is at literally a statistic all time low

so two guys who seem more like theyrr speaking their mind instead of toeing the party line (see: clinton, non-trump republicans) feel like a breath of fresh air

I suppose so.

Socialism in this context just means "increased taxes on the rich to fund assorted welfare/quality of life stuff" which as we all know is one step away from Marxism. Nobody's gonna go for it because TAXES BAD GRR.

yeah i think that's why bernie and trump is so successful

bernie is filled with extreme determination and trump is utterly fearless

ram: Did you just put communism and fascism in the same definition?

[up]The argument has been made that Bernie already got some of his wish by pulling Hillary more towards populism in her rhetoric.

in practical terms, bernie getting stonewalled (or clinton, because I could see this happening to her too) is infinitely better than trump doing things

we have about as much of a choice here as a choose your own adventure book where one decision advances the story and the other ends in a grisly death

But I mostly forgot about how the politic system works even though I learned it on an online class!

And to be honest I feel kind of scared off what with how everyone takes it all so seriously, all the information I have to look up about every person joining and the news, and the most I have gone off of are what scraps of information i got from everyone around me and what I see online in the corner.

And I never voted before!—Well I did sort of in school, but not in booths!

@Canada business: I do.

i think that if she wins the white house washingtonian gridlock will get worse, not better

she has a worse image than obama has across the board

and 4 or 8 years down the line the situation we're seeing with the gop will get even worse

The problem with Bernie, like him as I may be.

He is essentially the Trump for the Dems, he says what a lot of us actually believe, and want.

But at the same time, if he wins the primaries..... he will scare the moderates away. :/
