lol you really didn't like daisy
personally the only time when i disliked her was that whole clusterfuck with pent
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I really really didn't
like I knew she was kinda trying to act like her character
and her character was
not good
i know the term "mary sue" these days is overused by anyone that thinks "this female character" has too many talents but Daisy Sue was pretty much textbook that
everyone was expected to like her, the rules of both the RP and the setting had to constantly be broken and bent to accommodate her, she worse than contributed nothing — chunks of the party had to stay behind not doing fun things to make sure she didn't try to hug a gun or something and get her ass killed (another thing that contributed to the collapse of Deluge), and most of her dialogue was announcing a thing that just happened in third person with an emoji on the end
it was baaaaaaad
i also remember when somehow for some reason we managed to accidentally have cloud get raped and it caused such a clusterfuck we had to press the reset button

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Good old Shmotor.
You know, that wasn't even the first time he tried that, it was just the first time he succeeded. At one point about four hundred pages back while Cloud was unconscious he had the Courier straddle him for some "intimate healing" and it only got called off when I pointed out Zack would be kinda not cool with some complete stranger riding his little brother figure while he was in a vegetative state.

Deluge, AKA Murphy's Law the RP:
- I lost my notes. All of them. All those carefully handwritten guidelines I had sunk months into, gone. They later turned up waaaaay after the fact but by then the damage of playing by memory trying not to forget anything was done.
- Adannor being a really, really bad sport and ragequitting mid-plot.
- Daisy Sue constantly requiring a chaperone/actively hindering progress at times
- Multiple players with ass powers, both new and old
- Link vanishing mid plot with no announcement, and an added chase scene with tachikomas mid plot with no announcement
- I designed Deluge for a group of ten characters, tops, and instead had to handle the largest group of players and characters ever brought to bear in the history of the RP, with 36 active players and over forty characters in the fray at one point.
- Dark Destruction dropping mid plot
- Several people using non-human characters after I pretty much begged for this not to happen
- Joesolo and the "ripping the door off the hinges in broad daylight during martial law" incident
- As a result of the large group size, I had to cut two thirds of the plot's content altogether, most of which was the Silent Hill stuff I had my heart set on for years, and at one point this bit where Sarah shot up a ballroom with a shotgun and it was gonna be really cool. In the end she just wound up as "David's Wife"
- The fact that almost everything I actually wanted to do couldn't be done killed nearly all (but not all, yet) the enthusiasm I had for the plot, so tempers with anyone that asked me anything were incredibly short
- The playerbase at the time was mostly "shoot first, ask questions later" types. Deluge was a heist-based plot crossed with what I guess is (was) Tranquil Meadows. This went about as well as anyone would expect.
- This was also in the middle of Random questioning my every move with Cloud and anything I did in general, making me extremely nervous about doing anything
- Cloud himself wound up being an issue because he was the one with the information that players could coax out of him. Except no one wanted to because a whopping three, later two when Pyro dropped, participants were actually around for any of Cloud's arc and cared about its resolution. No one talked to him, the entire arc that I had spent literal years on at that point had to be scrapped almost entirely, and because vital information was never relayed IC I had to constantly walltext exposition in the discussion thread
- For the same reason there was a lot of "tell, don't show" in the RP which was not fun to read.
- Speaking of Random again, he hadn't quite figured out what distinguishing video game mechanics from story was yet, so he'd just have his characters spam healing items any time anyone got so much as a cough
- I spent so long biting player heads off none of the players trusted me to GM, which resulted in more botched sessions, which resulted in more head-biting, et cetera
- Good god did I mention cut content? Cut content. There was a whole subplot about Cloud's virus being sold to terrorists but being leaked early by Stabler that was barely touched on.
- Addy showing up halfway through to make snide remarks about the whole thing in the discussion thread anyway
- Pentigan alternated acting on assumptions and making sure any leads we had were never acted upon and just having his characters commentate on what was going on without actually participating
- Stonedog dropped, Pyro dropped, Summoner dropped as well? Not sure
- Nobody really went for the whole "change the city for strategic manoeuvres" thing
- Distrust of the GM also culminated in distrust of all the GM NPCs, so combat was a stabby, shooty, disorganised mess
- Another few character swaps mid plot meant I had to drop the whole "everyone has also been cloned and their clones are in the city too" subplot as well since it no longer made sense and would have had zero impact since none of the characters in question were even around anymore
- The Doctor was an originally planned part of it before Norm even joined the thread so I kinda had to improvise around that. That meant that in a way I "kept" his part of the plot with the clones, meaning Norm had stuff to do while that was going on and everyone else just kind of got to watch him have fun.
- I think about the only problem we didn't have with Deluge was that nobody tried to do any weird sex shit, and even then apparently that would have been an issue too if Addy hadn't left and taken Kashi with him since she punched with the power of orgasms.

>tfw when you realize you are part of the "old guard" of this thread
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Ah man.
Deluge.
It had problems.
I had fun, but yeah as you said, that was one of the problems.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?I sometimes feel uncomfortable by just how well received my plot was, because I literally had no experience and no detailed plans and just went with my gut 90% of the time and somehow fluked out something that wasn't a catastrophe. In a fair and just world, my plot would have shattered and burned.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?I really, REALLY want to bring this guy in some day.
I don't know how I'll make it work, but I just gotta.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?

don't dodge the question
Remember that one time Minako just ate a poisonous sandwich off the floor like a drunk David Hasselhoff after everyone screamed in her face it was poisonous because she didn't know it was poisonous?
