"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Now see I kind of agree with you Norm, but what I'd object to is just noping out of any show in general at slightest hint of anything sexual.
There's nothing wrong with not liking fanservice. But the thing is, if you just outright avoid anything with fanservice you're locking yourself out of a bunch of good content for the sake of maintaining a moral high-ground.
You certainly don't have to watch shows like Eiken, but if you don't watch say Durarara!, which is an amazingly rich narative about a bunch of people living everyday life(if everyone was a super hero or something), because one girl has unrealistically large breasts you're ultimately just hurting yourself.
PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850um im not sure how to simplify this
everyone was talking about fanservice being a reason anime is categorically bad, i wanted to talk about that
like im sorry for quoting you specifically i guess but everyone was saying very similar stuff
im just gonna stop here cause this has probably pissed people off and i dont think this conversation is helping anything

I never said that but I absolutely apologise for my choice of language that delivered that impression. Never feel ashamed of voicing your opinion, Hil.

I do have a tolerance for fanservice, but it's an exceedingly mild tolerance. It's how I've enjoyed Mass Effect despite my issues with it, and it's how I'll enjoy certain anime when I sit down and watch them. But I find it very distasteful, and this will and has kept me from watching stuff, I acknowledge. It's why I get so giddy when shows shed it off and grow up.

What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?lol nobody's pissed, this is a civilized discussion
we are not gonna get angry over fucking animu
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I'm just gonna step down with my main point.
A character can be sexy. Sexy cannot be a character.
If a show maintains this, I will give it a fair chance, regardless of genre.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Everyone drop all your animes and watch Kinnikuman.
Going back a few pages to Blaz Blue, should I mention that I think Nines design is actually alright to me? Like, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a slutty-ass character design IF it tells us a lot about the character's personality. In Nine's case, it kinda fits with how she's changed into someone arrogant, haughty and scheming (ironically, like Terumi).
"Shake the dust." - Anis Mojganinah its not even that i feel ashamed to voice my opinion
its that this is over something that feels too subjective to be worth talking about
@wacky: nah that's not quite what i mean
i thought people were annoyed because of the pages talking about animu which i assume most people would see as pointless
not getting pissed because of disagreements or something like that

bah, don't worry about that, this thread is largely pointless
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."

I said from the start I didn't wish to discredit the genre, just the shitty creators who promote damaging trends.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?
