i don't like fanservice because i feel like it's pandering to creepy neckbeards and it makes me feel dirty when watching
because i'm a prude
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."man
even though i would prefer less fanservice, i really disagree with you guys
i mean yes, the fact that its anime makes it weirder and not something i prefer, but it remains that if i want to avoid watching stuff without at least some sexual content (anime or otherwise) my options are becoming more limited and im fighting a very uphill battle
At best, it's cringeworthy. At worse it's indicative of a fundamental lack of respect of the agency of women.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?I've stopped talking about anime and am discussing media in general at this point.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? And regardless, even for fictional, drawn characters, it's still harmful in a different way.
In this case the creative team is making a character from scratch, and thus have a responsibility to present them as actual people. Pandering their sexual characteristics to the fans is an abuse of such power, and I've never seen fanservice done in a way that hasn't damaged the work as a whole.
