Personally, I don't like it when people say they don't like anime because of s spefic reason. Because "I don't like anime" is a such a broad statement that it has no defined meaning. Anime is broad spectrum of things, and you're not actually forced to watch all the bullcrap you don't like.
If you're more into something like Devil May Cry, you don't have to also play COD to be into videogames. Most hardcore anime fans only really follow 1-3 shows per season
You don't like fanservice? Okay.
You want interesting art? Sure Thing.
Don't like cutesy Moeblob. We got you covered.
All of that too dark for you. Lookitdishit.
Anime is a medium as much as it is an artstyle and if you dig around enough you're bound to find something you will like.

this is a very silly discussion but i'm kind of enjoying it
i feel like some hipster artist in starbucks analyzing other people's art and trends in art
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."all i know about paprika is that i like it on pringles
i wanted to watch tokyo godfathers, it seems interesting
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I don't hate specific genres.
There's rap music I like, animes I will one day sit down and watch, etc.
But yeah, fanservice turns me right off. If a lady ain't covering up, it kills immersion and reminds me of all the mouth-frothers who also watch the show. And you might try and convince me she dresses like that to be "empowered" or she needs constant sunlight to keep her body from dying but that's just yet another feebly transparent attempt from their male author to make it seem they're endorsing some kind of sexual liberation agenda when they just want boobs.
One of the most sex-positive shows I've watched is Steven Universe, and it's not a fan service show (fandom aside). It's just frank and creative and knows when to give certain vibes to get its message across - it's okay to do the sexy, it's okay to not do the sexy, but there's stuff you need to remember to make sure you are both feeling respected.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Sorry, but I need to get my "haven't watched an anime since that time I accidentally caught Gundam on a motel's pay-TV two years ago" opinion out there.
Ignorance is my strength.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?i never dig around for animu, i just go with what is highly praised that looks like it'll be something i like
i know shit like SAO and its ilk isn't going to be that so i don't seek it out
i also know im not going to like family guy or most of the adult swim animation lineup so i just don't watch those either
neither has made me give up on murrican or japanese cartoons yet
really though i guess im just not getting why fanservice makes people give up on animus but all the unfunny shock humor that seems equally as pervasive in american cartoons is just whatever
Rebels has actually started getting good.
They've got a full orchestra now, which Clone Wars only got in very specific episodes.
Characters have grown, the bad guys are playing hardball, it's going places that are completely new but still unmistakably Star Wars.
They did an episode the other day about what it's like to hyperspace jump into an area with no navigational charts and how the Force had to guide them to avoid running into stars and gravity wells and it had this full violin accompaniment and the Imps were getting torn up into beautiful fragments trying to pursue them and it was perfect.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?

well shit that's really really bad
but it is quite abrupt so i guess it's more noticeable, in kitaro's case he evolved more gradually
but don't tell me new kitaro
doesn't look more moe than old kitaro
