oh no this is part of me not articulating myself well but
I know why it got popular
I just don't know why it got popular
you know what I mean
but yeah just little rambling pointless discussions
I don't think chris articulated himself in a way that was any more/less hateful than I did though, at the very least not in this case

I HAVE
strange magic
and rise/ return/ coming backining of the guardians
not bad movies, just a little bit strange movies
well... i heard strange magic was bad
but it was bad in that you kind of have to see it kind of a way
i figure i could use a little break from studying
So its weird movie day!
All our wishes can come trueI'm not really sure I get the question now but yeah that's why.
@Spaz:Basically. Its about a secluded school of teenages with weird powers that get into trouble all the time.
Except its condensed into short episodes and they only have so many of those. Actually I can't really say the characters are bad. They are really damn good and the writers at least seemed to have a plan for how each one grows and changes and develops relationships.
But they basically fast tracked the process.
That and they were really off in execution.

Even so, when I align what I know happened into chronological order it comes out pretty sensibly. And the fact that history is presented by different creatures with different perceptions, it adds to the mystique.
Also, yeah, RWBY takes a while to hit its stride. I won't pretend that the story matches the art and fight scenes, but it picks up after the first season and has kept gaining momentum. We had a good year of trailers to start drawing assumptions regarding what the final product would look like, and yeah I was imagining something along the lines of what Spaz was thinking, but I wasn't massively disappointed.
I guess I like RWBY because it's clearly a labour of love, and I can almost never bring myself to pick those kinds of works apart. Same with Undertale.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?@Norm: I very much like mutable backstories and ambiguity as well
I just don't think Undertale's backstory is either of those things
I just think it seems contradictory
I'm willing to elaborate on this but A) I don't think I will be articulate enough to properly explain it
B) I would feel kinda bad doing so just due to personality things (i.e. what you just mentioned about labours of love)
@Squid: OH YES THAT
maybe yes let's see how big the file is

I'm slightly curious about what you mean Pyro.
Do you mean the whole Humans Fought Monsters, Monsters lost thing?
If its that my personal thoughts on it are that its sort of deliberate. I think the intro is just designed to give an oldschool RPG feel.
Its just like "This happened and that's all you need to know. Enjoy."

I'm talking about stuff like
Chara died so recently that camcorders were a thing
Chara died so long ago that no-one even knows what a human looks like
Toriel left a long time ago, no-one recognises her, she has watched many children go through and die, the only person that even remembers her is turtle hero dude
Toriel and Asgore were together so recently that Dogammy and Dogaressa have not managed to ever be nose-nuzzle champs
stuff like that

I'm just saying that's why it was popular. I was the first to Criticize RWBY because of how bad I wanted it to be good. And we got what we got, there were little nuggets of Monty Magic in between and that's what people watched for, and that made them get attached to the characters as well.
Its why everyone likes Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. The parts that were good were so good no one cared about how bad the rest was.
Also Chris.
You should learn to articulate your thoughts in ways aren't obviously hateful.
