the last time i checked mortal kombat, the cast was like 90% sub-zero and scorpion recolors. fights are super boring outside of fatalaties, which are basically the whole game
and now that its not the 90s where MK was actually relevant i doubt they're putting more effort into the game
that said
at least it doesn't have waifus

well to be fair mikoto is from To Aru, which isn't terrible
ive heard taiga is from a decent series too but ive never seen toradora
SAO is SAO, the very premise of Oreimo makes me uncomfortable
so im assuming everything else is awful
gameplay-wise though tats is right, mk is just
i don't know about the newer ones but the "classic" ones are some of the worst fighters I've seen from that era
incredibly lazy in almost everything

i beg to differ personally
like, I have a test, which i do not think is unreasonable, and that manga failed that test so spectacularly that to this day i think of it as a benchmark
and what I have heard of it later hardly increases my opinion of it
toradora my friend likes but I've never seen an episode or read a book or whatever form it takes
shizuo actually is a decent character though
seriously what is he even doing there
anyway regarding mortal kombat yes I agree, my point was always separate to gameplay

Of course when I talk about characters quality I'm talking about gameplay and unique movesets.
There's actually a few good surprises here, for instance one character is kinda like a mini-Magneto that can create metal platforms to hover around and toss I-beams at the opponent.
Then there's Charles Barkley who summons her entire basketball team to beat down on you before setting you up for the three point shot.
There's no real mechanics in MK that really makes a character stand out outside of "this guy has a gun projectile so he's annoying".
Classic MK (1-3) is actually amazing and hilarious to watch but anything past that is just cringey.

Deerthems fighting words aussie boi
well not really because i think to aru is kinda meh aside from accelerator, who is a pretty cool guy
but like, here's the thing
the fact that it's going up against shows where some guy wants to do the nasty with his little sister kind of forces me to grade on a curve, i feel
i probably didn't get as far into the series as you did, since the most offensive thing i can remember about it is that it has a lot of shonen cliches. i am not going to continue watching it to find out what perverse secrets it holds in the future, so it will forever be a meh/10 in my Big Book of Animoo
oh yeah spice and wolf is good
anime themed mostly around economics is an incredibly small niche too
@Jam and Tats: I think the steam version is dual audio, not sure though
wait no why do I think this I have no idea
I've heard the story is supposed to be decent too
@Chris: winner
@Hil: no no
see my 'test' only extends as far as the first chapter, as it's designed for me to see "okay do I want to dedicate more than a casual glance to this"
basically what I'm talking about is when the prepubescent anime girl nun's clothes explode when the main character touches them and then she reacts in an anime girl way
the specific test failing part is the prepubescent character sexualisation, but pretty much every part of that sentence adds up to be worse than the sum of its parts for me

Huh. Colour me surprised, I was under the impression it was a game with little effort put into it beyond licensing deals.
and come off your Mortal Kombat slandering
