Gross, keep them away from me.

On a semi-related topic, I watched Bleach with some friends last night.

Of all the things I have watched, it was definitely a thing I've watched.

the fact that Gene Simmon's son made a comic ripping off bleach is way more interesting than anything that ever actually happened in bleach

It was so... generic. I didn't dare say that to Miss Ichigo Shirt, though I guess my non-reactions may have rubbed people to wrong way.

Is there an anime out there that doesn't treat Hell as a set of video game levels?

Generic is a good way to describe it.

It was a comic I read when I was younger, because I thought the ideas behind it were cool, and it was one of the things you would read if you were a young'un interested in Japanese animes.

I will always remember one day, when I just had this beautiful revelation. I was just sitting down to read some Naruto and Bleach (Naruto I read because growing up it had been a Saturday morning cartoon that I liked) and I just realised "wait a second, why am I reading this. I don't like these. I haven't liked them in a long time" and then I just stopped reading them.

Earlier on I do think they were at least decent, but as often happens with long running popular battle shonen, they went to trash pretty well.

well technically bleach doesn't have a hell

im not even sure if it really has an afterlife in the traditional sense - the soul society just seems to be a revolving door you can go to and from when you die like nothing happened

assuming you don't turn into a skull monster, anyways

no there's a hell Hil, they had an entire movie focusing on it

another one of bleach's memorable little world-building things, i suppose

Bleach's first arc was sorta interesting, but after that it fell into Strictly Formula.

Doesn't help that pretty much every fight from Soul Society onward is longer than some modern anime.

Bcom Since: Jun, 2014
#453599: Oct 3rd 2015 at 5:37:49 PM

most of bleach's seasons are longer than most animes these days. Nearly every single one is like namek, only with a less satisfying payoff
