Tony Abbott is receiving a leadership challenge from the much more sensible Malcolm Turnbull.

The Liberals have finally started backstabbing each other after three or four years of criticising Labour for replacing their leaders mid-term.

What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?

It will mean the Liberals will have a much more intelligent, left-oriented and people-smart leader.

Which is bad for Labour, but will also mean that Abbott's cock ups will be repaired sooner than I expected.

We're not the USA and the Prime Minister is not the president.

Of course I'd prefer Malcolm Turnbull to Tony Abbott, but it'll still, by and large be the same party.

Basically.

Labour will have to pick up their game with Turnbull in power, though.

No more cheap easy shots through Abbott.

That's true.

To be honest I've kind of been disappointed with Labour's efforts so far, so hopefully they do do that.

like, it felt to me like they were trying to imitate Abbot's tactics atpoints, and, well...

Thus far, all they've done is kept their foot in the door. Eventually they'll have to swing it open and take some real steps forward.

And there we go, we have a new prime minister.

We're really making a habit of this mid-term-leader-swap thing.

The only thing that got mentioned about the three kingdoms period was the battle of red cliff where Cao Cao got tricked, and then we pretty much skipped straight to the Jin

Damn.

That is a bit of a shame.

They leave out Guandu, Hefei, and so many other great battles.

Did they even say why the Han Dynasty fell?

we went over it briefly, Xiongnu were acting up and landlords gaining more power than the emperor. it's unfortunate but we don't have a lot of time in this class, it's more like a crash course than full on lessons

Mmm.

Ah well.

Are they going to mention the awkward moment when the Jin dynasty didn't last all that long either?

we also went over that as well, we are currently at the point where the northern wei dynasty is ruled by non-chinese people and that Mulan was not technically what would be considered 'chinese' at that point in time and likely from the xanbei group
