@Pyro: Yeah, I meant the opposite of that.

What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?anyway basic point to that is this: the gm should always have the final authority. But the GM should also always focus on making things more fun for the players and should go with decisions that head in that direction.
if the GM doesn't, then there's a problem and grounds for a revolution and beheadings with a guillotine.
there's a social contract between the players and the GM: "we'll submit to your authority in exchange for a fun time". either side breaking this contract is pretty much a guarantee for disaster.
The fact is, the GM knows where the cracks are and what is coming up and what is likely to put a pin in their plans, while the players don't have the full scope. So, I think there should be a good amount of trust placed in the GM, even when it seems the decisions aren't necessary.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Strig puts everything into perspective.
Oh, I wasn't disagreeing, I agree that there needs to be an understanding. I was just adding my own insight on top of it.

What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? But at the same time
remember how half the reason Deluge fell apart and why Hawthorne almost collapsed before it even started was 'cause you guys didn't trust me to wipe my own ass let alone make important decisions that needed to happen?
you have to trust that the GM knows what they are doing

We dealt with Strig once.
We ended up nuking his character.
With an actual nuke.
I remember hawthorn, but after finishing that I think it could have been solved by entering an NDA with the slighted parties.
It would have fixed it for Stone and I personally, and I know for myself at least, interaction is more fun then twists.

What Spaz said. That plot saw a rapid drop in faith, and cooperation, which hindered Spaz which caused the faith to drop further. Vicious cycle.

@Norm: "There aren't character limits while a plot is on"
We've always had at least some limits. To the point where it was in the rules. It's not like the FG where if you really really wanted to you could RP 9 characters at once (it'd suck prolly but still)
Apologies if it's not a typo.
@Jam: I don't think anyone is asking for totalitarian GM rule though.
Hell, even the fact that we're discussing this instead of it being "Duff and Riv want less people, half your characters gotta die" kind of shows that imo.
