All I can say is that it's a fairly simple matter that really should have been brought up in the active presence of Duff and Riv in the first place. Since it was just Spaz, people got the wrong idea, jumped to the wrong conclusions and assumptions and it just kind of spiralled out of control.
Basically, from what Spaz, Riv and Duff found, there were too many characters to deal with, and the only way for the plot to become manageable was to cut the players or cut down the characters.
Some of us were shocked because Riv and Duff hadn't really telegraphed that there was much of a problem in the discussion thread before making this decision. We all got a little too passionate about the situation, but it doesn't change the fact that for this plot at least, we can only have one character each.
It's possible this may end up being semi-permanent status quo just by each gm deciding that it's a good, manageable number and choosing to keep the limit for their plot, or it could change each time. This really isn't a big change from normal - I imposed limitations on the number of player who could have more than one character, and most of you stuck with one which I was grateful for. I didn't want it to be a rock solid rule, I just explained the problem and people understood and cooperated.

What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Not trying to be hostile, I am just saying it does not seem right to sit out after requesting we wait a day so you could put your thoughts together.
It would be nice to actualy hear them after waiting.
Edit: Even if the thoughts are I don't really care any more, it is just nice to know where the parties stand after taking a day to mull it over.

@bcom: you have my yes
it is honestly real hard to give everyone something meaningful to do as is, and i have been trying to do that through this part and the last one as well as keeping track of everyone
i'm pretty sure duff already said that, but i'll echo that sentiment
@space: what duff said
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meani'm just going to say this
i think that during downtime when no major set pieces are being written, i think that you should allow two characters. it'd add that feeling of having room to breathe in between them, and allow relationships to develop and conflicts to be created and resolved and stuff like that
during set pieces i think the character limit would be more appropriate
@duff: im too slow

dead devotionok, well if it's in the name of speed then i'm totally willing to bus a character for the plot and just focus on one.
I'd still like to present a possible alternative, if not for your plot then for future ones just incase: During plot time, there is only one active character used by each player but during non plot stuff (such as the times when the characters were just screwing around in the room ship during transit between locations) they can have the second character around if only to help keep things from getting boring during those times.
this is pretty much the same idea I had last night, and dang it box. we think alike
