So, Mobile, how exactly does the Claudia/Caroline thing work?
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Weyull, it's a little complicated. Caroline isn't fully the woman that GLaDOS once was before she was put in the robot, even if she took the name for herself.
Claudia (GLaDOS) has no conscious memory of Caroline's existence and still believes she always used to be a supercomputer. However, Claudia's repressed memories of her human life are intertwined with her id and are thus conscious to Caroline.
Claudia feels uncomfortable when faced with the reality that she's in pain and scared, and being uploaded was a very painful, scary thing for her, so she denies its reality and does not remember any of it. Also the scientists did some shit to make her forget, but it's half-and-half repression and science voodoos.
ALSO, Caroline the Human Woman Who Died's superego and ego are still part of Claudia. Caroline is not fully Caroline, but an amalgam of the two consciousness' ids. The machine consciousness is where she gets her violent streak from.
Hope that makes sense, sorry if it's confusing.
make it through this year if it kills you yet | 2001-2019No, I'm glad it's that complicated, because otherwise I'm just an idiot. It's relieving.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Gatcha.
Ooh, nearly forgot (and this is mainly headcanons):
Because GLaDOS is angry and incapable of having good relationships with humans anymore, she has a pathological need for their suffering and prolonged death. She feels this because she hurts deeply inside and wants to hurt them back. Caroline isn't kill-crazy at the moment solely because she has beneficial relationships.
Claudia could have done this, too, but she's too prideful to seek out companionship from lowly organics. Caroline lacks shame, and this is what initially drove her to reach out to Cloud.

Anything specific you want to know about Gracia, so we're even?
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Yes. Morgo saw a chance to undertake a psychic trial in order to prove to her captors she was capable of controlling her abilities and being allowed to live and serve as an Imperial-Sanctioned psyker. She brought Gracia to join her in the group being tested, unwilling to part with her and hoping it would be a shot to get them both into lives of relative safety. The two of them went into extensive cybernetic implants in preparation for this test.
Unfortunately, Gracia's particularly poor grasp of her abilities meant that when the anti-daemon fields on the room were lifted, she was almost immediately assaulted by a daemon. Morgo was able to shield Gracia, but at the expense of her own mind, and her soul was torn from her body and obliterated.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Which is why Gracia can barely handle taking off the jacket that used to be Morgo's. Even when she showers, she needs to keep it in sight.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?

Hahahahahah shit.
I thought of something cool to do.
But it makes almost no sense whatsoever.
I must save it for later.
