wig, listen to Snoop's debut album "Doggystyle"
not joking that's what it's called
Spaz, while both those things are true, that doesn't take away from the quality of the albums.
The Chronic is a top-ten rap album of all time for a reason.
GRODT is a different story but there still a reason for why it sold so much and why it made 50 into a legend.
WHOA WHOA WAIT A MINUTE
50's only generic now because people have tried to do his formula over the years and failed. When GRODT came, it was fresh as fuck with a unique sound compared to a lot of things that were coming out at the same time.

I live in a constant state of fear and misery.A lot of 50's buzz revolved around the fact that he sold drugs (legit) and had just been shot 9 times and survived, which made him out to be some kind of "alpha-hustler-gangsta" for lack of better words. So after that, labels were competing to sign his ass and he got picked up by two of the hottest in the game Em & Dr. Dre, so that adds to the hype right there. 50 Cent's was about more of the gangster lifestyle which was still dominating rap at the time.
He's not that relevant anymore.
GIMMIE A MINUTE FOR THE WAYNE REASONING
I live in a constant state of fear and misery.Wayne, IN HIS PRIME, exemplifies what it means to be a complete rap artist. He's killed it in almost every arena of the rap game, he's been on tracks with literally everyone, he lives and breathes hip hop. He could make an album in 3 days that would compete lyrically with stuff it would take those other dudes months to produce. Everything he does just seems so effortless and genuine and he represents a hip hop lifestyle that others just could never attain, maintain, or be successful within. He's got a pretty unique delivery, great at riding the beat, sounded hungry on practically all his verses, can make really personal or emotional songs if he felt like it, wrote unpredictable rhymes - he was just an amazing all around rapper in his prime.
There was a reason why, between 2006-2008, he called himself the best rapper alive.
Now, people still like Wayne because we're still hoping for an album as good as the shit he made in his prime. He's shown signs of improving and I honestly believe he can release an amazing album of he tries but only time will tell if that'll come true.
I live in a constant state of fear and misery.@azure: with the problems of society, such as a lack of job employment and difficulties in many fields, being in a gang stands as the 'best" option for people who live in the ghettos and other run-down sections of cities.
and, taking a guess, survival is indeed for the fittest. wouldn't you be happy you didn't die from getting shot?
i feel like i'm kinda required to know this stuff since i was raised by a african-a,erican father who was very well versed and experienced black culture, so uh yeah.
there's always hope, and i think wayne is pretty okay... mostly. wasn't there some stuff he did that he caught shit for?

GO AHEAD .... MR. JOEHSTUR .......I haven't heard anything like that. Drake, as far as I know, never been charged with anything like that. He's clean. Also, Wayne doesn't have any drug charges, that was my mistake. It was a second degree gun charge that sent him to prison for a while.
Stone, the reason he was referred to as that, was because of his work ethic during 2006-2008 and the fact he was just releasing great album after great album. Every time he was on a song, he killed it. He was unstoppable.
And than Rebirth happened and everything enemy down the toilet.
I live in a constant state of fear and misery.Eminen hasn't put out a good album since Relapse and even then Encore was complete ass. He doesn't rap about anything anymore. He's turned into "lookit my AMAZING rap ability because I can rap SUPER FAST! Good beats? Who needs them! Actually lyrical content? Nah, fuck that! Lemme just say some words that don't relate to anything!" He's a "lyrical, spiritual, miracle" type rapper and those are the worst.
Wiggy, to get into Wayne, I'd say...
If you want Wayne's best project, listen to Da Drought 3. It is literally the best thing Wayne has ever put out.
If you want Wayne rapping his ass off, listen to No Ceilings.
