One interpretation I have read of Enkidu is that his whole civilizing episode represents in a way man's civilization as a whole. What with the sex for pleasure, and being given beer and meat, when before he ate with and like the animals.
Another thing is that some posit he mirrors Gilgamesh in that while Gil is 2/3rds divine, Enkidu is 2/3rds man, being created from the mud and given the divine spark.
It is legitimately one of my life hopes to live long enough to read a completed Epic of Gilgamesh.
Oh.
Yeah by the sounds of things you read a version where they filled in the gaps.
Right now, people can make pretty good guesses as to the general content of the gaps, but they still do not exist.
So that in, say, Andrew George's translation it will just have "He... upon the cedar" or something like that.

I'm not sure what translation.
But geez.

Tamed through being given a woman to entertain him... for six days and seven nights.
