Version 6 is better.
Because it is rendered less choppily and features more stabbing. Like most of Complete compared to the original it improves upon.
That's why I usually don't do fights, though. From a practical standpoint Cloud is really really broken, and from a writing standpoint I just couldn't do anything he does justice without both a lot of cooperation from the opposing party (which rarely happens in fights these days), and maybe even a little godmodding.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistNah. I'm your dictionary for this shit.
Unofficially-officially they named all his swords, too, because people keep fucking up and naming the entire sword First Tsurugi, when First Tsurugi is only the base sword the other swords lock onto and the full thing is the Fusion Swords.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistAaaaah right, how could I forget? You've always seemed to make it a point to point out which sword he's using and what its name is.
As long as we're talking about crazy weapons, ever take a look at Sol Badguy's Junkyard Dog?
◊
That ain't even a sword! It's a giant lighter! With a sword inside of it!

"Shake the dust." - Anis Mojganiaaaaaa I need to play Guilty Gear.
Is that a thing a lot of Japanese games do? Have fully animated cutscenes instead of rendered CGI stuf?
Also, have I been spoiled irredeemably by your plot?
For future reference,
- Vigilante
◊ [1]
◊ (Officially named First Tsurugi. Does fancy tricks. Can't find the gif where he shoves it in Reno's face, gimme a minute.)
- Vendetta
◊. (Outer covering giving the full assembly the iconic "butcher knife" look. Is actually hollow! Can open and shut like a door.)
- Merciless and Avenger
◊ (Mirrored blades, go on either side, also lock together with stuff???)
- Ascalon and Sidewinder
◊ (Also paired. The "smallest" of the two. They fold.)
Full assembly of the Fusion Swords.
◊
Buster Sword
◊. Note the lack of moving parts.
Redesigned Buster Sword.
◊ Essentially the same, but with a hinge to put in materia, which is actually kinda neat.
GOD DAMMIT CRISIS CORE YOU COULD HAVE BEEN SO AMAZING AND YOU BLEW IT.
Anything else mentioned is one of many hidden blades he's packing, or Souba
◊. And I'll be surprised if anyone remembers when and why he got and continues to keep Souba.
HINT HINT
Also I'm gonna bookmark this post to refer people who get confused to it.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistYou seen the TGS Xrd trailer? I do know of plenty Japanese games that have fully animated, not pre-rendered cutscenes and Xrd is one of them. Why would it need to? It looks gorgeous on its own already.
Also, seeing as my plot only covered the Great Offscreen War that served as GG's backstory, you should be a-okay.
Checking the wiki cuz I'm a cheater. Souba's Kadaj's sword right?
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiAlright. Thanks. What console is it for?
Also yes. Though you shouldn't check the wiki, it's a complete mess as it struggles to justify all the sloppy retcons created by the expanded universe, so the information you're gonna get is going to be 50% speculation and 50% just jumbled stupid crap.
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistWill check out Vintage Stock. Hopefully they'll have it.
Jam is asleep, probably. Dammit.
I still can't get over the fact that Loz exists. Why? They could have taken his screentime and used it to let Kadaj have better rants.
Or just let this guy do stuff.
◊ That would have been awesome.
Yay.
So if you look in the Tv Tropes Pantheon, a very much "for fun not srs bsns" thing that I look at when I'm really bored, Sol Badguy is labelled as the God of "False Marty Stus". Personally, I think this title is apt.
Sol possesses a lot of the standard tropes and traits you'd associate with a Marty Stu protagonist. He's ridiculously badass, is proclaimed by the author to be his own self-insert avatar, and is also one of the most powerful characters story-wise.
But interestingly enough, Daisuke had enough writer's integrity to treat Sol without bias and as his own character rather than just a mouthpiece or self-fulfillment indulgence, because Sol has a few legitimate flaws (his jerk-ass attitude makes him highly unsociable, no doubt a result of his 180+ years of age as well as his simple-minded, brutish methods despite his intelligence, all wrapped up by his laziness) and interesting character traits that are only subtly hinted at rather than outright expressed.
Sol has legitimate insecurities, and a lot of guilt to burden. But he never angsts. That's not his character. Instead his guilt is hinted at through his actions and decisions. He's a character who actually takes charge towards reaching his own goals, and even more interestingly, his simple-minded determination may even be one of his flaws. There are blogs out there that would probably explain why better than I can.
In my next post; Ky Kiske.

"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiSo Ky; foil to Sol as well as our Deutoragonist.
As his foil, Ky is everything Sol is not. He's gentlemanly, kind and always determined to do the right thing.
Maybe a little too determined. Ky was drafted into the Crusades in his pre-pubescent years, and his sheer skill eventually allowed him to become the supreme commander of the Holy Knights. But that doesn't change the fact that most of his childhood was spent either in fear or as a soldier.
When the war ends, and Ky takes a job as a police officer, he finds it difficult to adjust to peace, and to relive the glory days of the war, he expresses a somewhat self-righteous holy-man persona who blindly pursues his own view of justice through his police work.
Ky also tries way too hard to make the world a better place. In his stalwart determination to do the right thing, he ends up in a pretty shitty position come Guilty Gear 2: Overture that I won't explain here. You can easily see the transition; in the original games, he's determined and maybe even a little arrogant. By Overture he's a stressed out, depressed sack of shit.
Thankfully, Ky has learned a lot as the series has progressed, particularly from Sol, and we're seeing the fruition of his development in Xrd, where he possesses a more confident stride, a more open-minded attitude as well as a focus on a single goal rather than constantly trying to make the world perfect with his old views of justice.
"Shake the dust." - Anis Mojgani-Applause-
(Was going through and deleting old avatars that were too tiny/not square enough and found this.
◊ CANNOT DELETE FAST ENOUGH.)
Are there any more you want to analyse?
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistNah, think I'm good.
More importantly than all this character analysis stuff though, Daisuke is godlike at composing music.
