i'm not on the more recent parts yet and agh those identical faces
@trip: there is still hope
but seriously though
this guy basically debunked the whole thread by posting a chart of sales and pointing out the consistency and that there is no pattern of decline
and people are basically ignoring it
even with an assload of dudes going "look at this fucking chart already"
this thread is 13 pages long like holy fucking shit

it is so hard
and it's a series i love so much
the whole crux of their argument is that the three most recent Zelda games have less sales numbers than Zelda games of the past
which is true, admittedly
but there are very easily explainable reasons as to why
spirit tracks is a handheld Zelda game, those obviously do not sell as much as console Zeldas
skyward sword was released on the very tail end of the wii's lifespan when everyone was basically done with motion controls. requiring a peripheral doesn't exactly help either
a link between worlds hasn't even been out for a year, of fucking course it's not currently going to have the sales numbers of Zelda games that have been out for several years. adding onto the fact that it is a handheld Zelda game in a time when the handheld market is nowhere near as strong as it used to be
none of these have anything to due with the series being "stale" or "not appealing to core gamers anymore," you fucking chodes.

I live in a constant state of fear and misery. Not as true as you would like it to be Duffy, over 70% of a games sales over its entire lifespan occur within the first month after release, so much so that they normally don't get tracked by that point.
Sure the long tail is there, but its honestly not worth considering unless the sales are within about 10% of the other comparable games.

so i'm reading this GAF thread about declining Zelda sales and it's making me mad because no one knows what they're talking about and people are basically using it to make drive-by posts to say what they don't like about Zelda and pretend that that's the reason the games haven't sold as well and that they actually know anything about the industry
help me be happy again guys
