Spent the whole day out with buddies.
Highlights of the day include a buffet lunch at Carnivores, an almost all-meat buffet place. Their pork bellies were awesome shit.
Goofed around at a bookstore and found a very inappropriate maid-themed harem manga. In the Children's section.
Finally, watched Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Great movie in all honesty. The dynamics of the human-ape conflict led to a very gripping plot.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiSaw the trailer and I pretty much feel like I've seen the film.
Apes rule earth, humans hunted, good guy human learns apes are nice and theres a shot at peace, asshole human is too much of a General Ripper to call off attack, humans are the real monsters blah blah.
Maybe I'm being unfair, it did get good reviews, but the plot hardly looks groundbreaking.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?I'm certainly oversimplifying it, and it is a pretty popular movie, but I just find it hard to get invested in a movie with a foregone conclusion.
I just find myself waiting for the one idiot and the one asshole to screw everything up.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Fair enough, but I say give it a shot anyway. If you don't mind a little potentially spoiler-y tidbit, yes someone screws up any chance for peace between the humans and apes. It's one of the apes, who's essentially the main villain of the movie and fairly interesting all around.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiIt was a problem I had with the first Apes reboot movie, so it's kind of tainting my anticipation for this one.
I'll probably be pleasantly surprised anyhow, despite my grumblebum show.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? My mate had that.
I like the soundtrack.
