Cheney doesn't do anything, though . Unless he's shot someone else in the face.
I mean, he did pass that thing that prevents natural gas companies from having to comply with human safety standards, but apart from that all he did was say stupid shit and complain that Bush didn't listen to him enough and shoot his friend who was wearing a bright orange safety jacket in the face.
Abbott gets to make decisions. Or not make decisions when decisions need to be made. This is a bad thing.

Quebec is just.
Fucking ridiculous.
So, Canada is bilingual. We have to have English and French on everything because of Quebec.
But Quebec isn't bilingual. When it came time for them to put English on their signs, they said "No." and had the police wreck any signs that had English on them essentially. When the courts got involved, they pulled out a part of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that essentially said "If the federal government wants you to do something fucking insane, you don't have to do it. This is meant only for emergencies, like asking you to kill all of your children and wave their skins around like flags." (This was a relic from the foundation of Canada to get the provinces willing to join).
And then there's the tax burden. Quebec has really good social programs, and the lowest tuition in Canada. Because they make everyone else pay for it. They are so deep in debt to the rest of Canada it's not even funny. So when they try to raise tuition, these fucking asshole, entitled, bratty students being rioting and protesting and boycotting in the streets.
And then there's the recent thing where they proposed that they ban "Overt Religious Symbols"
◊. While failing to remove the GIANT FUCKING CROSSES from the federal buildings. Or rename some of the very religiously titled towns.
And after the People of Canada tolerate this (To an extent). They fucking hate us and want to separate and have held two very close referendums on the matter. (Not to mention the October Crisis which had Pierre Treadu have martial law in Quebec for a while because of them spewing out terrorists, during which they (some terrorists, that is) murdered a politician (it was either an english diplomat or someone else) and held another one hostage, and then got off with light jailtime as to appease Quebec.).

Because it would be a fucking mess to get rid of them, since there are land disputes with Northern Quebec. Not to mention people like a whole Canada, and we would lose ties with the Maritime provinces. And then they might separate. Which would cause even more problems.
If Quebec separates and attempts to take Northern Quebec, it may cause the federal Government to occupy it, but I doubt Quebec will see violence within itself.
And then there's the fact that Quebec's population generally is like this:
40% wants to leave
40% wants to stay
10% are variable
And the fact is that if Quebec seperated:
Canada would tear their throats out due to the debt that they would not be able to dig themselves out of, and the fact that they are surrounded on all sides by Canada and Hudson's Bay.

I sincerely doubt America would do that. Some provinces may elect to join them voluntarily, but it won't be by force.

no, i don't
Now, I respect the NDP. Their previous leader, Jack Layton, was a really good guy. He had his heart in the right place, and actually got the party into the position of Opposition for the first time ever.
Sadly, he died of cancer soon after.
In comes Thomas Mulcair, a massive, greedy prick.
EDIT: Mulcair wants to shut down the oilsands which would just fuck the economy over. Alberta is riding on them and Alberta is important for the economy.
