Thats a misconception Bcom.
NASA and Space X bot can launch humans still... however.
Russia charges 84,000,000 per astronaut this is both cheaper and for a MUCH safer platform then any thing NASA and Space X offfer.
The russian space program may have not have been leading the race since sputnik but thats because they actualy cared about safty....
There moonlander had redundent engines, where as the amercian one if the engine broke you were traped, and this was a legitimate concern not just a offshoot scenario, rockets are not reliabke...
In addition they planed to send a second unmaned lander first, so that if the engines were well and truley fucked, the cosmonaught could get out and take the second lander up.
And this extenxed through there entire program... there space shuttle equivilent? It had ejection pods, if it had the same problem as columbia no one would have died....
....
Yea, the Russian space program is way underrated.
Also MH 17 wont effect this, since no one has even been able to confirm who did it, dispite the claims on the amercian news, and considering the russians/rebeles PROPOSED the cease fire, and WANT international investigators, I am unsure if it was them, that would be like a murderer inviting police officers into there house/crime scene without a warrent...
Especialy since if it was a buk they will find out in hours, those things are the size of a telephone pole, there would be no hiding it.

Yea, the shuttle IS gone, but it was replaced....
by a drone capable of carrying people in the cargo bay
◊
Safer, cheaper, and does not require humans unless necicery, which is a massive pluss, given the price tag on sending a person up
all I said was that I was sad the space shuttles were retired, yah they were old and it was time to replace them but I actually got see one launch when I was on a trip to Florida when I was little. On the topic of Russia: I'm not insulting their space program at all, I just do not like Putin and view him as a power hungry dictator.
now I feel bad for having an opinion ._.;;

Objects weight in gold, but the thing is launching a person is not just a person, but 6 months of life suport per person.
Nah putin is a dick but he neither leads the country nor should he be taken acount with the reblles.
They unanimously want to join russia, let them, there ethnic russian, and even have had russian military bases there for years, its not hard to see why they came to that conclusion.

Both, they actualy raised the russian flag weeks before ground forces got there for backup.
I can find the news stories if you dont belive me but I am on the phone.
Also I would not blame ANY amercian for being missinformed your news is dumbasses tainted with latent cold war hostility, which leads to bias.

Hey, I'm sad to see them go too. I'll harp about the management both at NASA and Congress and the cost but I still remember the awe from watching them lift off. I'm a bit envious that you got to see a launch live, actually.

That's true, I forgot about life support.

True, though ending tax-exempt status is probably harder than eliminating Social Security at this point. And I was think more about the overruns - isn't there a law or something (not a legal one, more like Murphy's) that says more government oversight of projects equals even higher cost overruns (e.g., the U-2 vs. the F-22)?
Also, what sources do you normally use? I've become disillusioned with CNN when they started using big font.

Bcom, stop trying to inflict a Deadly Sin upon me.
Humanity's longest-running soap opera.

The damned queen and the relentless knight.BBC mostly, but I also know quite a person who is a major in piolics in the area, specifically, so I actually defer to them instead of the news for the most part, since well... thats there feild of study, and are not just a dumb ass with a microphone.
Also Bcom.... Dmitry Medvedev the prime minister has just as much if not MORE pull then Putin does....
Buuuut, Amercians are brainwashed into thinking president = leader, when in reality presidents are more elected figureheads.
And he was not, the long story made short is this, Ukraine colapsed, the west half of the country wanted to join the EU, the east half wanted to join Russia... and instead of just splitting like they should have, it devolved into civil war.

Your news is unbelievably biased though, just look at the situation with Isreal... Even though Isreal is guilty of quasi-genocide, amercians and there news potray them as heros valiantly defending themselfs.
I am more upset that people just listen to the TV news instead of actualy doing the research on the topics, hence the insults, if people would do the research they would mean nothing.
