To the ISS? I don't believe MH17 is enough to derail that cooperation, chiefly because it's a much bigger and more complicated process to wind down/wind back up. My impression is that this is something you recall ambassadors over, not screw over the global scientific community over.

In the 1970's, there were four baseball games that were forfeited. Outfielder Rusty Torres was present for three of them, all of them to fan riots:
- 9/30/71 - The Washington Senators' last game before they moved to Dallas-Fort Worth to become the Texas Rangers. With two outs in the top of the 9th and the Senators up 7-5 against the Yankees, fans were so angry at the impending move they stormed the field and vandalized RFK Stadium, including removing seats and literally stealing bases. Game forfeited to the Yankees. Torres was with the Yankees at the time.
- 6/4/74 - Ten Cent Beer Night. 9th inning again, game was tied 5-5, Torres was subbed into the game as a pinch hitter for the Cleveland Indians, who in their brilliance offered beer at, well, ten cents a cup. Close game plus super-drunk fans plus already heated contention between the Indians and the visiting Rangers over a bench-clear brawl earlier in the season equals fans storming the field trying to attack Texas Rangers players and spurring the Indians to protect the Rangers from their own fans with bats. Game forfeited to the Rangers.
- 7/12/79 - Disco Demolition Night. Torres was with the Chicago White Sox, who staged a promotion inbetween doubleheader games against the Detroit Tigers where fans would get cheap tickets if they brought a disco record, which would be tossed into a pile in the outfield at Comiskey Park and blown up with explosives. Another fan riot, the second game was forfeited to the Tigers for unplayable conditions thanks to the explosion and subsequent field-storming that tore up the grass and vandalized the field equipment.
There has not been a forfeited American League game since Disco Demolition Night.
