Okay... (takes a breath)
If you don't want something done to your character, don't let it happen.
Yeah, I know that's on the rules page and whatnot. But its purpose never really became apparent to me until my character found himself on the receiving end of what seemed like a mean-spirited case of god modding. I accepted, not really understanding that I could decline, and overall had a very bad time afterwards. And it's still left a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm not blaming the guy who did it. And I don't know if that rule applies in the RP. But I just needed to get that out there.

Yes, but it might be prudent to know the circumstances. I really doubt anyone will be mad at you.
It... sort of applies in the RP, yeah. It depends. For minor things, or for in-between plot stuff, it's in full effect, but since things tend to be more structured, usually not. However, no such rule applies to the GM. If he says you've gone blind and only speak in couplets, then you're blind and speak in couplets. GM is god.
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon Alchemist(sigh) Alright.
Remember that time when Chibi was having fun with Mat the sniper, doing stuff like turning Cloud into a cat person? I was having Archer shoot back, being the only person there who could. After an admittedly fun Sniper Duel that ended with Archer losing his bow, I was just having him gawk at the chaos, snugly behind cover... then Chibi decides to go for an autohit.
It's the way he did it that miffed me. He seemed to be jerkish, doing things like hitting Archer in the butt "because it's funny". And he made another post before I could articulate a response, so I just rolled with it. And turning Archer into something non-humanoid, unlike the others, also seemed to be out of spite.
I'm not blaming Chibi at all. He's Californian, and so am I - it was 2:30 AM there and we were probably both drunk on sleep. But I just need to get it out there.
I can assure you that it was absolutely not at all meant to be rude, spiteful, or anything relating to the above. It's meant to be a bit of fun. But yes, that's what that rule means. Every now and then we do things like that, just for shits and giggles, to see what everyone does with it, and if you don't feel like going along with it, just say so. Archer getting something non-humanoid was completely unrelated to anything, and just a coincidence. It wasn't meant to spite you, I guarantee it.
If he hadn't done something like that, sooner or later I would've. Or someone else.
@Imca: That's more of a fight thing, though. This was Shenanigans. Different procedure. Though yeah, if he wanted to opt out he could've just dodged.
