I just save frequently as a force of habit.

I don't like betting on the freebies the game hands out to me.

I perfer the Mako from a desing standpoint, wheels are superior to hovercraft due to load potential and reliability concerns, both of which are of high importance to the military.

HOWEVER

I wish it actualy behaved like a tank, with the armor and firepower to feel like this.

Same. It's also a behaviour that's been drilled into me since I first started playing Pokémon, and only reinforced when I was made to replay Disc 1 of FFVII seventeen times due to a faulty memory card.

The Mako isn't a tank, though Imca.

It's an APC, and one from the future with jets underneath.

Designed to carry a squad from one spot to the other with a modest level of protection and firepower.

Well, in what ways could it act more like a tank?

I mean, it's from the future. It has no need for stored ammunition, its shields means it can afford to be less bulky, its six wheels can tackle terrain well enough without treads and its jets give it an enormous advantage.

Comparing that to a modern day tank is kind of dumb.

It could not bounce around so much, that is a bit of a desing flaw for ride comfort... which IS actualy a concern belive it or not.

And it could use some more firepower, or more sheilds.

And yet, it's still terrible.

[up]My entire squad should have been dead from whiplash after the first mission, I don't care what kind of momentum dampeners they have.

The Codex entry describes inertia buffers that means the crew barely feels any feedback.

And it is heavy, it's just that the mass effect generator can limit its weight and let it bounce.

And shielding such a massive machine against firepower that could kill a guy twenty times over is all its tiny generator can manage. Any more and there'd be no room for crew next to the generator.

Not to mention its enormous rail gun. Have you measured that thing? It's longer than Shepard is tall. It can bring down geth walkers and thresher maws and one shot a modern day tank, if not a modern day battleship.

Don't get me wrong, it's shitty to play as, but it's far from a shitty design.

Hey badger, I hope you dont mind the overly long posts with all the option weighing.

I just kinda thought they would be more fun to play out then attack attack attack in a fight, and show that she does have some thought capacity to this stuff.
