No but seriously Trip, in my mind, a good character can't just be whipped up in a short amount of time.
If I were you, I'd sit on an idea for... at least a week. Think it over, work out logistics in your head, talk it over with some people, make revisions...
I've developed some of my characters for literally YEARS.
Trust me, it's worth it. The end result will be better in the long run.
War is God.Well... trust me, if you want to make a good character, you'll need to invest a LOT of time and effort into him/her.
I'm DEFINITELY not bored thinking of the characters I came up with. If anything, I'm still trying to characterize them.
You don't gotta just like shove an idea out the door as soon as you get it. Just sit on it a while. You may be surprised.
War is God.Well, you can't think that way.
I think of fiction as... a combination of non-unique things to create unique combinations of said things.
But I can empathize with you in that regard. It sucks knowing that my ideas aren't original. It kind of... hurts.
But then I realized that it doesn't matter. I feel like I'm doing something different, even if only slightly.
War is God.Dude, I'm basing an entire webcomic on stealing someone elses ideas. Don't sweat it.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? In writing everyone steals everything from everyone.
Trying to come up with a completely original idea is damn near impossible, but what you do with those ideas is what makes it good.
Actually Trip, you knew Hilda wasn't going to be a very original character from the get go. That didn't stop you from writing her.
