SO guess what.
Sony recently released EVERY PS One game on PSN for the Vita. It was great! Everyone rushed over to buy they're favorite classics so they can play them go.
Only there's one problem.
Sony didn't actually release those games, it was a glitch in PSN. So they "fixed" it.
A legitimately cool business decision, that would have had them raking in money, was a mistake.

I'm pretty sure Sony has to purchase rights to those games before selling them
Unless they already have the rights to all those games
in which case I dunno
Meanwhile, there are a FUCKTON of great PS 2 classics I'd love to see on PSN, and no dice. I don't wanna play icky-looking 32-bit games, mmkay. I'd really like to purchase Silent Hill 3 from PSN

War is God.We could have.
All the PS One games.
All the PSP games.
And all the Vita games.
This console could be drawing from three libraries of games. But they don't because Sony doesn't feel like putting in the effort to test said games and go to the developers and say "Hey you want to make more money with no effort whatsoever?" And I'm not even sure if its the licensing thing because different reigions have different games for sale. Japan has something around 200 PS Oone games for sale while america has 9.

I can't speak for the rest of the international community.
IDK
Economics ain't really my thing, yo.
Not to mention that some of those games may be owned by European or North American companies and publishers.

dead devotionYeah, it's not uncommon for devs and publishers to pull that shit.
(ahem... Valve)
But obtaining rights for some of that crap can be difficult. It took Good Old Games YEARS just to pry the rights for System Shock 2 from EA and some other publisher called Meadowbrook Insurance Group after Looking Glass Studios bit the dust.
I mean, they DID finally get it, much to my joy, as I never got to play the game and have wanted to play it for YEARS ever since I read about how deep it was.
Look at what happened to THQ after they went bankrupt: a mob of publishers swooped in like vultures just to yank away the rights to their games. Damn shame.
War is God.
