ATTENTION EVERYONE IN THE RP
That magical time of yore rolls around once more! Dust off your pitches and gird up your tender loins, the next plot in our humble saga must be chosen!
A (clumsily-worded) Refresher on Voting:
- No voting until I say the polls are locked. They will start as open and will stay so until all pitches have been submitted.
- No announcing who you're gonna vote for publically. All votes should be PMed to me for confidentiality's sake.
- It should follow that you shouldn't post your vote in the discussion thread.
- Please don't vote if you're not in the RP. If you don't understand what the distinction is and need clarification, those of us who have been here awhile will be glad to answer.
- The submissions will be listed as closing after they've been locked and I've received almost all the votes. Please, if you're online (and in the RP as per the above), vote and don't hold things up. You may also change your vote during this time if you desire. If there's a tie, a revote may be called.
- The submissions will be listed as locked after all votes have been received. Voting after the polls are locked ain't gon' do much, sadly.
Most importantly, remember: yoshi committed tax fraud and cannot vote

On an Island in the Middle of the Ocean
On a somewhat small and secluded island, there are ancient ruins that look as if they have been untouched for centuries… or perhaps even millennia…
However, this island is not uninhabited...
”You mean you still haven’t figured out what happened to Aichi?!”
The blond-haired boy
◊ holding the phone doesn’t even flinch in response to the extremely loud voice coming from it. However, the two light blue-haired twin girls
standing beside him do have a notable response.
”HEY! Don’t talk to Leon like that!”
The first
◊ is loud and angry at the way the guy on the phone was speaking to Leon. No one talks to him like that!
”Leon’s doing everything he can… You shouldn’t be mean to him!”
The second
◊ is more mellow and spacy-seeming. She’s also upset that the guy on the phone is being rude to Leon as well, but she’s not quite as loud about it.
The boy, now identified as Leon, holds up his hand as a cue to shush the two girls. Evidently, he is not concerned in the slightest about the way he was being spoken to. There are more important things to worry about.
”I cannot sense his wind. He is somewhere far beyond us.”
Suddenly, the voice from the phone speaks up once again, agitated.
”Whaddaya mean by that?! Far beyond us… Are ya saying that—”
Leon abruptly cuts him off before he can even finish saying what he thought Leon meant.
”What I’m saying, Ishida, is that Sendou is not on this planet. Wherever that portal took him is somewhere beyond here.”
Exclamations and murmurs can be heard over the phone. Apparently there are multiple people on the other end.
”You mean it took him somewhere completely alien?”
”You’ve gotta be kidding me!”
The voices of a young lady and a younger boy stand out among the voices chattering in the background.
Leon suddenly stiffens, but not in response to the voices on the phone. He then spares a glance to the twin girls.
”Jillian, Sharlene. We’re going back to Japan. Immediately.”
His voice has a tone of authority, and it’s obvious that he’s speaking about something very serious.
Both of the girls look at Leon with a shocked and confused expression.
”Do you...”
”...sense something, Leon?”
Leon nods solemnly and begins speaking to both the twin girls and the others on the phone.
”This wind I feel… It’s foreboding and unnatural. Something is amiss.”
The girls look at each other nervously. If Leon is feeling some kind of dark wind then something serious must be looming…
”We need to find Sendou quickly. If the source of this wind is as twisted as it seems then we’re going to need him.”
Where is Aichi Sendou? What is this ominous wind that Leon is sensing? Something’s about to happen, and Leon’s got a very dire feeling that Aichi is going to be a key player in whatever is about to unfold...
They need to find him now.
—
Meanwhile...
It’s completely dark. Aichi can’t see anything around him. Just empty space utterly surrounding him, with no end in sight.
”Huh? Where…?”
He’s looking around trying to see if there’s something… anything nearby. Is this a dream…?
No matter how hard he tries he can’t see anything…
All of a sudden, a voice cuts through his thoughts.
”...Help…”
Aichi turns to face where he heard the voice.
”Someone’s… calling for help…?”
He starts running towards the voice. The voice sounds scared and alone…
”Hang on, I’ll help you!”
Something slowly appears floating upon the horizon… Something small and indistinct.
”...Help me…”
”I see you! I’m almost there!”
As he gets closer the object slowly becomes more discernable... It’s… a Vanguard card…? Aichi can’t discern the details beyond that.
”Help me…!”
Aichi reaches his hand towards it, but before he can touch, it everything fades to white.
—
”!!!”
Aichi wakes up with his hand reaching out, just as he had been before. Evidently he had been dreaming...
Aichi sits up quickly and looks around. He’s in his room back at the Room… Nothing particularly strange or out of place. It just feels like his usual mornings...
”W-What was that…?”
Was it just a dream, or could it have been something more than that?
He’s got a feeling something’s going to be happening soon… He has no idea what, but he can just feel throughout his entire body that…
Something serious is about to occur...
We Are Vanguards!
In this plot, your avatars will be sent to the world of ‘’Cardfight!! Vanguard’’! A strange entity seems to be plotting something that is still unknown to the heroes... Cardfighters are suddenly being corrupted and can turn into corrupted forms of their cards!
A mysterious tournament is being arranged with the prize being supposedly rare and powerful cards. Naturally, this event is catching the attention of cardfighters all around the world, and people from many different countries are aiming to participate in this strange tournament…
On top of that, card shops all across the city are starting to sell very strange and unsettling cards…
Could all of these things be connected somehow?
Together, you must stop the corruption, discover the secret of this strange tournament, and figure out just what is going on with those weird cards before the corruption causes the potential destruction of both Earth and Cray!
- See where Aichi is from firsthand and meet several of his friends (and possibly some people Aichi barely even remembers)!
- Experience quirky banter with Aichi’s strange friends and mock Morikawa’s lack of intelligence!
- Playing Vanguard is completely optional! No experience in playing is necessary to enjoy this arc!
- Actual fighting is an option for those of you who want to fight against corrupted fighters! Heck, it’s even encouraged!
- Discover just what the secret behind this strange tournament and the prize of the rare and valuable cards may be!
- Work together with Aichi’s friends to take down whatever is causing this catastrophe!
- If you want to use one of the corrupted decks for yourself, you can! Become a corrupted fighter, act as an antagonist, and transform into corrupted versions of your favorite cards!
- It is recommended that you use characters that have some kind of special ability (Magical, psychic, etc.) and/or know Aichi, but it is not a necessity. Also if you do not plan on playing Vanguard, it is highly recommended that you use someone that can actually fight.

Around a shadowy conference room, several suits sit around a table together. The atmosphere moody, with the help of the acid rainstorm outside, clouding the skies. The shining cityscape in the middle of the barren and irradiated wastelands of futuristic north america- now murky and dimmed by the weather. Many at the table felt it was a bit poetically cliche how the weather was so accurately reflecting their mood.
The man at the head of the table suddenly stood up in the silence, addressing the rest of the gathered suits, “Men, women, chimpanzees, and all others here.” one of the suits nods in appreciation, the chimpanzee raising a thumbs up whilst sipping from their synthetic whiskey and vaping. Continuing his statement, the suit at the head of the table walks over to a screen, turning it on with a wave of the hand, displaying a graph with a big red line going down from left to right and a big frowny face at the end.
“This is our current projection for profits. As you can see. It’s absolutely shit. Monday Night Combat is getting stale. And upping the match variety has not helped at all. We’ve got yells that we’re changing too much, yet when we don’t change anything, everyone says it’s getting predictable. So… I’m proposing a bigger change. I know, it sounds crazy but hear me out.”
With another wave of his hand, the next slide comes up with the words ‘How do we solve this?’, the man starts waving a pointing finger at the screen but accidentally goes to the previous slide. He waves his hand again, before clearing his throat and addressing the crowd-
“What we need is a fresh injection of content. Real content. Not different matches- not new cosmetic events. We need fresh faces. Fresh personalities. Fresh Product! We need more Pros!” He wildly gesticulates at the crowd to no real reaction, other than a raised hand from the chimpanzee.
“Okay, but we don’t have the funding to make more clones. And our ideas team was scraping the barrel for Team Gold-diggers and High-Rollers. So- where are we getting this money… and where are we going to get something new when our creative teams are steamed out?” The chimp took another swig of the whiskey, looking at the enthusiastic suit at the head of the table.
The man clicked his fingers, and grinned, pointing at the chimp.
“I knew you were going to ask that, Gustav! My boys & gals down in R&D have discovered a new source… the perfect source. Our experiments into teleportation technology in order to make fast food even faster, have revealed the location of a crossroads in the multiverse… and from our speculation- we think that extradimensional beings are the perfect new flavour to bring to Monday Night Combat!” the crowd oohs and ahhhs at the revelation, though Gustav The Chimp raises a hand, with vaguely doubting sounds as Gustav puffs out a cloud.
“So… what’s your plan exactly? Kidnap them and run them through the qualifiers to create new teams?”
Bluntly, the man at the head of the table nods, and smiles as he responds
“Yes, yes that is exactly what the plan is.” Everyone at the table clapped, and mumbled together in approval of the plan.
And that was how it all began, at least according to the recollection of the suit in charge of the meeting. Some Corporate Suits deciding to kidnap a whole bunch of otherworldly people- to put them all through the rigours of fame, gladiatorial combat, and product endorsements.
We now welcome the inhabitants of the room, to the field of

"Finally! My masterpiece of a campaign is finished! Every possible player decision considered, every plot twist immaculately laid out, every encounter balanced to polished perfection! Now, lemme just call up some friends..."
Laura turns on her phone to look at her contacts.
"Voicemail"
"Jill"
"Mom"
"Dad"
"That One Guy You Worked With For A Group Project But Never Had The Guts To Ask Out But One Day...Bill? Ben? Something."
"...Oh. Right...I need friends."
...she says as she signs onto a chat program to talk to one of her only friends.
Confidently Anxious: Uggggggggggh...
Star Tourist: Long day?
Confidently Anxious: Painfully. But I finally finished drafting my D&D campaign.
Star Tourist: Ooh!
Confidently Anxious: And have nobody to run it with.
Star Tourist: Oh. Man, if I lived down there in Texas, I'd definitely play it!
Confidently Anxious: ...Where do you live, anyways?
Star Tourist: Up north.
Confidently Anxious: Like...Canada?
Star Tourist: Kinda like that, yeah.
Confidently Anxious: Didn't know they made holographic hard light game boards that look like they're from the future in Canada.
Star Tourist: You got the package!
Confidently Anxious: Yeah, where'd you get this thing?
Star Tourist: Uh...I know a guy?
Confidently Anxious: Thaaaaaaaaaat's vague. Besides, lotta good it'll do me with nobody to play with. I'm not gonna get anyone to play this in a billion years...
Star Tourist: You'd be surprised.
Confidently Anxious: Girl, you talk weird.
Star Tourist: I'm sure you'll find somebody!
Confidently Anxious: How can you know that?
Star Tourist: Just got a feeling...you never know when you'll just bump into somebody, y'know?
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Humor!
- It's a very fun-based plot. Expect things to go wrong. Expect them to do so hilariously.
- Player agency!
- The plot is completely open-ended. If it gets derailed within 10 minutes, that is perfectly okay with me.
- Two layers of RP'ing!
- You'll be playing your character playing a D&D character. Their own skill at doing so will be a factor. Dice rolls will be made - we use the honor system. I trust you. Except the one person reading this. Not mentioning any names but Riv knows who he is.
- At least two cameos you won't see coming!
- See if you can spot them!
- Laura is a giant!
- Your characters are their own game pieces! They will walk around the game board in lieu of pieces or tokens and fight monsters displayed by a massively-overpriced holographic game board. A hard light game board so combat actually does happen! And it hurts! Pain builds character!
- Infinite isn't in this one!
- Oh thank God
- Watch a college student's life slowly fall apart as a consequence of her horribly skewed priorities!
- Wait what
- Make friends with somebody and witness their terrible decisions rip their future to shreds!
- no stop
- Not to mention finals are coming up!
- narrator why are you doing this

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hell, why not?
The day was clear, and the suns shone brightly, blindingly into the courtyard as the Citadel loomed over all, an imposing monolith to The Church's hegemony of the land. Even as Archaius the Scribe approached it, as he did every day, he felt a lump in his throat looking up at the thing.
Shaking his head, he continued inside, showing off an ID card to the paladin at the gate and entering an inconspicuous side hallway off the main hall.
Rustling through his papers, his duty for the day, he went through a series of checkpoints, each staffed by a Paladin somehow more threatening than the last, until he entered the Chambers.
Cool tubes, large enough to fit a man inside, as they did, judging by the humanoid forms within, rested along the walls. Framing a large workshop, they provided a humble, if esoteric, atmosphere to the room, in the middle of which a man worked furiously, scratching out notes and and writing drafts on paper and chalkboards in turn.
"Apothecary Rambardt? Are you busy?"
A rhetorical question, the Scribe had learned to ask it whenever he engaged with the Apothecary, a simple politeness that dodged a woefully deep transgression were it not asked.
"Ah! Archaius! Good, good, you're here. Just a moment...." He replied, finishing a diagram, from the looks of it something alchemical in nature but highly thought out, if the Scribe knew his arrays well enough.
"Yes, Student of mine? What news brings you here?"
'Student' had been the Apothecary's pet name for any assistant of his for the better part of a century, the man fond of not one but all who lent their hands to his grotesque line of work over the decades. Archaius had never vocalized it but he rather appreciated the small gesture of fondness from the Apothecary.
"Sir! I dug for the reports you wanted. We tracked her down."
The Apothecary paused, thinking with a feeling as if someone had given him a rather serious blow to the gut.
"Where?"
"A small village out East, buy the name of Willowshood. It's the last place anyone saw her. We don't have any record of her leaving, by witness testimony."
"And the detachment searched far and wide?"
"Until they were exhausted, and then some, Apothecary."
"I see. We will have her back yet, my Student! I swear my life on it, may the Lady bless us both for our efforts."
Elsewhere, nowhere, everywhere
The Sword awoke with a start as the breeze started up. She smelled the wind and was alert in an instant, the familiarity of it setting her off as easily as a light switch.
It was something she had not felt in a long time, the scent of flowers in the breeze mixed with the unmistakable odor of oil and grease, mixed into a haze of smoke and industry. She stood up, looking into the wind, and narrowed her eyes, images flashing across her mind, surfacing as if dredged up from some deep, dark depths.
Looking back to the Room, she let out a breath. It had been relaxing, almost.....almost what she was looking for, but she realized as she looked back out into the distance that what came now would not cease until she put an end to it, herself, for good.
She shook her head and gathered her weapon and supplies.
It was time.
Magic. Mystery. Lasers. Who is the Apothecary? What is the Citadel? Why has the Scribe Archaius been tasked with finding The Sword, that mysterious melee madwoman?
All of this and more may be answered to the fullest extent it can be answered, only in that insane, metal mashup of science fantasy crazier than belief, and beyond insanity...

One Piece: The Tree On Moonwing Mountain
Somewhere in the South Blue
6:30 AM
"EVERYBODY WAKE UP! WE'VE REACHED SHORE GET TO THE SHIP'S DECK!"
You hurry to the deck and see a short, lean girl with brown hair, tied in a short ponytail in the back and emerald green eyes
◊ Noticing that the excited shout that woke you up was from your captain you lose all hope of sleeping in the next 24 hours. As you look towards the horizon you will see the shore had a bustling harbor. Filled with strange buildings unlike the rest of the South Blue. They were tall. Real tall. In fact the tallest looked like it could scrape the sky. It almost looked like the city was made of towers. One thing was certain, it was prospering. The tiny girl pointed towards the harbor as she leaned forward, almost falling.
"Look guys, we've reached our destination! Now we're gonna get some new people into the family!!! And treasure too. Let's g-" the captain tries to run back to the deck, interrupted by a large figure behind her.
A tall, buff woman, with auburn hair and sea-blue eyes wearing a small straw hat on her head.
◊ Her right cheek held a visible and frightening burn scar,
◊ it was the first mate, preventing the captain from trying her usual ridiculous shenanigans. The woman whispers something to her before standing before the crew and addressing them.
"I'll make this explanation short. The island we're about to land on is called Seabill Island. We don't know much about it except that it hosts the port city we're about to get to and ruins in the eastern parts of the island. Our goal here is to get new people into the crew, hopefully a navigator, get a guide to help us get to the ruins and grab whatever treasure the ruins might hold" the First Mate grinned. "So whenever you guys are ready..." The captain interrupts her shouting as she raises her fist, seemingly trying to reach towards the sky.
"The Sky Quail Pirates will begin their flight!"
In this Arc you'll:
- Be a pirate! Explore Seabill Island's locales, from Sunbeak City's skyscrapers to the mysterious Cloudtalon Ruins' weird inhabitants to Moonwing Mountain's harsh predators!
- Go on an adventure on the island in search of the sacred treasure of the ancient technology-rich Tenguken civilization inside their famous ruins.
- Solve traps and puzzles as you make your way to the treasure with all the wits you can muster!
- Encounter weird animals and vegetation throughout the land and the ruins as you traverse the way to your end goal with your friends!
- Try to avoid the menacing marines in a city and basically an entire island that is incredibly hostile to pirates!
- Interact with weird, fun and quirky characters in One Piece fashion! Enjoy your time with weirdly proportioned humans and funky animals!
Fudge it, why not?
Plot idea as submitted by the resident Gundam Fanboy
It is the year 295 of the Terran Calendar. Humanity has lived among the stars in massive colonies orbiting the blue jewel known as Earth for over 200 years. Over the centuries, the Earth Federal Alliance has tried to keep the peace for as long as possible to ensure that humanity does not make the same mistakes as it has in the Old Eras. However, those mistakes are bound to be repeated as history has foretold.
On January 4th TC 295, the Principality of Zeon and the Zodiac Alliance of the Free Territories formed a military coalition and declared war on the Earth Federal Alliance. Using their large stockpiles of powerful Mobile Suits, this Zeonic Pact launched an aggressive campaign against the many nations that make up the Earth Federal Alliance. Over 4 billion lives were lost in the first two months of this war, and the destruction has yet to be stopped.
On March 13th TC 295, the Earth Federal Alliance had developed their own prototype Mobile Suits to counter this new threat. Their collective codename was “Gundam,” and numerous sorties were organised with these Gundams as part of a massive counterattack. However, it may not be enough, and humanity is on the brink of wiping itself out….
Our Avatars Were In A Room Together In:
Let's Start A Gundam War!
In this RP you will:
- Pilot your own Mobile Suit!
- Take part in a massive world war!
- Meet loads of obscure Gundam characters who will probably die!
- THE ULTIMATE GUNDAM VERSUS WORLD!
CLASSIFIED—TOP SECRET—FOR PRESIDENT'S EYES ONLY
Re: Report on DARPA Project HAL-X—EMERGENCY
Status: URGENT
Mr. President,
Quite frankly, sir, the project has gone completely haywire.
The contagion turned out to be far more contagious than initially anticipated. Worse, it appears to be intelligent. HAL-X has an agenda, and it is not friendly to US interests. Or humanity's interests.
Our initial analysis of the spread of the infection and those "gifted" by it most would suggest a sinister goal—nothing short than the complete elimination of all differences between individuals, which it believes will bring about a utopia. On a global scale, this would entail the eventual murder of untold billions, and the conversion of all that remain into members of a hive mind with itself at the top.
We fucked up. We have unleashed a monster. But there's no time to mourn our mistakes—we must act quickly. I suggest immediate deployment of emergency measures and activation of DEFCON 1. We can consider ourselves at war with HAL-X.
We do have one idea up our sleeve. We believe we can summon equally powerful beings to fight for us, via the Hawking Project. Most of our research on the wider multiverse is from 2012 to 2016, but it can likely still be of some use. We can have a working prototype for the summoning device within a few days.
God bless the United States of America. And God help us all.
Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time...?
