@Ram: I don't know, personally I'd be worried about it limiting the amount of dialogue they can write, a la Shepard.
I mean, with Shepard, he is defined aside from the player themselves, he has his own history so it works for them, for what I've played of Mass Effect SPEAKING OF WHICH I downloaded it finally recently and have started playing it my Shepard is named Hosea and he is a spacer who was the lone survivor.
Whereas from what I've seen of Fallout, they are a lot more of a blank slate for the player to construct or project a personality onto.
But I wouldn't know really as I have only played some of Fallout 3 many years ago.
Yes this. The better Fallouts seem to be not Bethesda though

@Chris: Doesn't pretty much everyone agree that Bethesda games have pretty bad stories though?
I mean, people like their settings and whatnot, but I have never heard anyone sing the praises of Skyrim's actual story, for example.
@Imca: I thought that was unconfirmed. Also I wouldn't have trusted anything from Kotaku anyway so.
they're good but have glitches
im excited for it
there hasnt been any word of microtransactions
theyve introduced a lot of cool stuff
and
honestly the voiced character thing isnt even that bad
@pyro well yeah im not expecting some epic story either but why be negative about it

I live in a constant state of fear and misery.that's because fallout games DON'T have gripping storylines
it is trying to be something it ISN'T
@ram: so it would seem..!

@Chris: Personally I'm not being negative about it. I've never played a full fallout game, when I do play my first it won't be this one. I'm just commenting on what I think about things based on what I know.
Regarding the story for instance, I quite like Morrowind so far despite there not being any great narrative hook.
But I think people should be allowed to be negative and post about it, just like you're allowed to be hype as fuck about it and post that.
Like, the stance I have on things like this is:
I really dislike anything that kills actual discussion, whether that be people saying "stop being so positive" or "stop being so negative" or even some throwaway line about people having different opinions. Because yes of course people have different opinions, but that doesn't mean you should shut down all discussion about it. Just to clarify this last bit isn't directed at you, just clarifying my stance in general.
