Hey guys!
So I've seen some cool stuff about final fantasy XV and whenever (IF ever) it comes out, I'd really like to try it out. This would be my first final fantasy game ever, so I just had a few questions.
One, do I need to play the other final fantasy games first? SHOULD I play the other final fantasy games first? I only really know about 6,7,8, would it be a good idea to play those first?
And two, could I even play any of those? I have a pc, a ps3/4 a wii u and an xbox 360, and I think I've only heard of final fantasy 7 getting re-released on pc.
Thank you! The new game looks super cool! I really want to play it!
All our wishes can come trueFirst of all: god I hope this one is good. It looks like it wants to be good. Only time will tell.
Second of all: Yes and no. The Final Fantasy games, as a general rule, actually do not follow any sort of "continuity" — FFVII takes place in a completely different universe from FFIX, as do all the others. New characters, new setting, new everything. The only thing that really carries over are gameplay elements. So you don't need to play the others to understand FFXV's story at all, which is good, because Final Fantasy games can be pretty long.
That being said, should you? I don't know. Perhaps, given how bad some of the recent ones have been, it would be better for you to enter the series with an unbiased vision instead of anticipating more crap, like I am. Then again, it may be useful to have a basis for comparison as far as quality goes.
Honestly, I'd recommend you play V or VII anyway. V because it's a pretty good entry-level game anyway with fun, lighthearted dialogue and stuff, and it displays the different attacks and moves very nicely. And VII so you can get a feel for the kind of storytelling and characters that the FF series used to be known for, because hooooly shit that game. Also, V's armour system is pretty universal to the rest of the games, whilst VII's has been streamlined quite a bit in favour of making the magic and skill system more complex, so you can just get used to swapping in and out different gear.
I wouldn't recommend starting with VIII, since it's a bit weird about equipping things.
MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon AlchemistWell, my tutor thinks I'm the model of efficiency from a presentation I gave. I had it done earlier than anyone else in the group I'm fairly sure, and it was the first one he showed to the class to demonstrate what it should look like. Some of the others had barely started.
Probably best not to mention that my laptop has tv tropes open in a tab most of the day.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? Also this has probably been done by every one of us at this point but
