Arnnen kept silent on his own part, wieghing his options. Oh, how he loathed having to give in to these insolent little bugs, but he was no fool. Let them have the victory, he decided. But he would end this.

His attention now fully turned away from them, Arnnen stared down the two guards with a venomous gaze, one which clearly intimidated the guards. He increased the electricity gathering in his palm, it's crackle louder than that of a burning home.

"Tell your... Jarl that if any word of Stormcloak support from this city comes to the ear of a Thalmor, we will show no mercy. He will side with the Empire, or he will die." The guards simply nodded, regaining their compsure enough to drag Aurora, Aine and Jeane with them.

With nothing left to say, the Thalmor turned gracefully on his own heel, his emotions visibly leaning towards the more optimistic side of things as he walked away.

"Alright you three, you better behave now. You're saying in this cell until Jarl Balgruuf has time to deal with you" said the guard as he locked the cell door in which Aina, Aurora and Jeane now stood.

Aina had often glanced up at Dragonsreach... though she never expected to visit it under these conditions. Wordlessly she put her back to a wall and slid down into sitting.

Seeing as everything had resolved peacefully Avionus sighed relieved. Sure he wanted to see that the bastard mudcrab of a Thalmor got he deserved as much as anyone but he had seen enough of pointless blodspilling in his time... As long as they weren't Stormcloak blood that would say, he could let the world drown in it.

Having nothing better to do he checked the bounty note he had in his hands and begun to make his way up towards Dragonsreach in order to claim the reward for the job.

Aoife exhaled a small sigh, at least that whole mess was over with, she got to yell at a Thalmor, she still had her coin, and she actually didn't get recognized and arrested. Nocturnal must be at her back today. Now that was a rare occurrence in this day and age.

Now, it was time to ponder her options. Now that she'd drawn public attention to herself, she would probably need to lay low or be quick and make her leave. While she wasn't the most wanted criminal, she was still a thief with a semi-decent bounty. It made her a bit sad; Whiterun was such a nice city, especially compared to Riften. Hell, anything was nice compared to Riften. She figured she could get away with that meal at the inn, maybe purchase some mead or wine for later, then get back on the road. Maybe she'd see if that other Bosmer that stood with her against that Thalmor was travelling anywhere. It was rare to find another of her own kind in Skyrim that wasn't a bandit or affiliated with the Thalmor, and a travelling companion always made things more lively, even if the journey is short.

Alternatively, she did mentally play with the idea of breaking those ladies from earlier out of prison, or perhaps paying bails or setting up a payment agreement to let them free. From what she learned from asking around, the Thalmor's goons picked the fight with the Nord swordswoman first, the archer didn't intend to kill, and the sorceress is an idiot that doesn't know when and when not to do necromancy. None of them seemed evil in he mind, and in ensuring their bail or escape they would owe her a debt or favor, both useful for getting out of bad spots in her trade. Connections were vital, especially when they can hold their own in a fight.

Ultimately, it would boil down to the length of their sentences, the cost of their bail, willingness of the guards to negotiate, or, in the worst case scenario, their willingness to break the law to get out. The prison in Whiterun was laughably easy to break out of- or into.

She felt for and counted the lockpicks in her pocket. . . Yeah, she had enough to pick the door, grate, and chest. But shoot, the risk still existed, and people were starting to check out that bounty board again. . .

Maybe she should just hang low at the Bannered Mare until she formulated a plan, or until news spread of a solid sentence for those ladies. Yes, that'd be for the best. She'd try to get to know that Bosmer fellow better, if time allotted.

"Eheheh," She smirked, then looked at Ayden, "I think we made that Thalmor fellow mad. The look on his face was priceless. Ah,well. Nice to see I'm not the only elf that doesn't see eye to eye with them."

She took a brief look around before continuing, "Anyway, nice crossing paths with you. I'll be at the Bannered Mare for a bit if you want to talk, but by no means do we have to. Well, hopefully our paths'll cross again," She turned and started heading back to the tavern, where she'd get her food and plot until she had to shove off.

What was I thinking? Bohl carefully put the knife back where it had been concealed, and hurriedly put his merchant clothes over his armor. I was about to jump off a blasted roof in the middle of the day, I don't like what this town's doing to me. He dropped to the street when no one was looking and went back to the inn - his original plan when he came to this place. Hopefully there wouldn't be more distractions.

When he entered the inn, he sat down and ordered a meal from the woman behind the counter, inquiring about a room for the night. Keeping his ears alert, he tried to hear if there were any rumors being whispered.

"Soooo," Jeane said, fidgeting, "Any idea how long they're gonna keep us in here? I told the College I'd have the results of my experiment to them in a week. I can't just turn up empty-handed."

She peered outside the bars. Next to the sleeping guard, she could see some apples, a loaf of bread, a coin purse, some venison, and some mead, but no... wait a sec. Jeane squinted. She thought she'd seen a little shimmer. Cupping her hand to her ears, she listened closely for vibrations. Although it was buried beneath the guard's snores, she could definitely hear something. Her Soul Gem was just outside!

The Dunmer's lips shifted their position, smoothly transitioning from an affable smile to a satisfied snicker. He slowly eased the bowstring and placed the arrow back into his quiver.

Walking along towards the temple of Kynareth, he began going over the situation in his mind, now enhanced by the clarity of hindsight.

There were quite a number of people that looked to be the "nomadic" type back there. Several openly-worn weapons. Something about a necromancer, too.

Adric pivoted mid-step, rotating a half-circle on his left heel, and commenced observing the destinations of everyone in the crowd who did not seem at home in the city.

"Who knows? They might want to starve us a little bit before were presented to the Jarl. Maybe they want us to think about what we did for a while. Though I doubt it would do you much good, witch. What you did down there for your fellow wizards was beyond vile" Aina said without looking at Jeanne, still resting on the floor.

Ayden stood dumbfounded.

"Another elf who hates the Thalmor, getting to tear strips off a Thalmor representative and send him packing, and no one tried to pick a fight with me...? That's it, I'm marking my calendar!"

Jeane cocked her head, dumbfounded. "What? What'd I do wrong? His soul had already been dislodged, I just moved it where it could still be useful to us. As a matter of fact," she said, pointing the sleeve of her robe at the guard, "I think it's over there. In that bowl."

Oh, he seemed pretty pleased with shooting down that Thalmor. Seemed like a pretty fun guy, too. Might be good to make an acquaintance.

She turned around like she'd just remembered something and said to Ayden, "Oh, yeah. Sorry 'bout that. Didn't really properly introduce myself, did I?" She smirked, "The name's Aoife*

Aurora sat silently, her eyes not leaving the soul stealer. She did not trust mages, and necromancy most of all. One's ability should be based on the sweat of their brow, the strength of their back, or the steel in their hand. The ability to twist the very edys of nature with one's hand was unnatural.

So she sat, waiting for the spellslinger to try something else. "Quiet, witch." She whispered, so softly it could have been mistaken for a breath of wind. She, like the archer, did not know how long they would be here. Her only hope was that she could regain her sword, her sole posession of note.

Bugraal looked at the sign in front of him; a sword and hammer crossing at an anvil, the telltale symbols of the smithy. He felt a sense of lazy relief, it was a hell of a walk to get to here, what with the dispersing crowd adding to the usual packed streets. At times, he had become so tightly packed-in that he felt like a mammoth trying to squeeze its way through a tiny crack in the mountainside. He almost wished the riot would have happened, at least then all the running and the fighting would have meant some empty roads to walk through.

He sighed and scratched the back of his head. It didn't mean much anymore, anyway. He had found what he'd been looking for; work. He approached the small shop and rapped his knuckles against the door, to make sure the building was open and staffed.

The door to the smithy opened soon after, a tall tan Nord woman standing just inside, looking at the Orc standing before her. "You need armor, friend? A weapon? If so, you didn't need to knock. Door'd be locked otherwise. Although the guard would probably be a bit jumpy... Anyway, what can i help you with?"

"...Oh. My mistake." He said as he lowered his eyes. "I'm used to unpleasant welcomes if I just walk right in, so I try to be cautious."

He returned his gaze back to the Nord. "Fact of the matter is, I'm actually looking to make some coin. I'm a traveling blacksmith, you see..."

"Travelling blacksmith, you say? We could probably use an extra set of hands around here... But that isn't for me to say. Come on in, and we'll see what we can arrange."

The Nord woman walked back inside, presumably with Orc in tow, entering a more spacious room in the back. Inside, a Nord could be clearly seen working hard on creating an elaborate piece of art in its own right, hammering out the shape as sparks leapt into the air.

"Do you have a minute, sir? We've got a travelling smith here, looking for work.", the woman called down.

"Do we now?", he replied, finishing his latest piece and walking over. He turned to the Orc, looking him up and down. "You think you can prove to me you're good enough to work this forge? Show me what you've got.", he stated, inviting him to make something worthwhile.

Assume that the relevant supplies for Iron and Steel armor/weapons are the most readily available for Bugraal to use.

Bugraal smiled wide as he felt the heat of a good forge once more. He felt right at home.

"Gladly!" He vigorously replied as he set his leather sack onto a nearby table. Pulling one of his steel ingots from the pouch, he went to the forge and began his work. The process flowed smoothly and without pause. He set the bar amidst the flames, pulled up the cast, pulled the molten steel from the flames, poured into the cast. Just like clockwork. Set the mold onto the anvil, hammered out a blade, carved in some visually apealing patterns before adding his signature, a tusk and a spear. Taking some nearby leather straps, he tied a hilt to the now-cooled steel. Within the span of a half-hour, the blade was finished. He presented it to the smith.

"What do you think?"

"The soul represents a constant state of being. As long as the soul is intact, one exists, no matter the form they take. The loss of the physical body merely begets the transition into the next phase of one's existence." Jeane said matter-of-factly. "It's no big deal, really. They're just moving on to a different plane. I have no idea why people get so upset over it. It's not like anyone's getting tossed into the Void."

Avionus entered the great Dragonreach, before sitting down on a bench. He looked up into the roof, it was really magnificent, he had though been here before, usually when turning in completed jobs so Proventus should atleast recognize his face.

Avionus eyes then shifted to the dragon skull hanging on the wall. Some say it is the skull of the dragon Numinex that was taken as a prisoner here by the nord Olaf One-eyed. Avionues sighed and took fourth his bottle of mead, uncorked it and drank. Before rising up and approaching the steward. "Greetings steward. The jobs done. The bandit leader is slain." Avionus fished up the bounty note and stretched it forward "Do you have any other job for me?"

The Nord took the sword from Bugraal carefully, out of respect for the orc and his work. He examined it slowly, taling note of the edge, the symbol he put in it, and even gave it a swing or two.

His final response was a nod of approval. "Impressive. How long have you been smithing?"

Proventus dully turned his attention to the Imperial from a small crowd of citizens gathered around him. He quickly snatched up the bounty note, reading it over.

"My thanks, sir. You've done Whiterun a great service today. Here's the gold, as promised: 100 Septims." He promptly withdrew a small coin purse, tossig it to him whilst verbally fending off a citizen angrily speaking to him.

"I may have something you can assist me with later, if you can quickly aid me. I've heard news about an incident in the marketplace. I have no doubt that there was one, as we have the culprits, but eyewitness reports are mixed, the guards are out on patrol right now, and apparently this involved a Thalmor. Can you shed any light on what happened?"
