Are Hipsters the smallest particle, or are they made up of yet smaller particles?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Well, assuming that the average hipster has a mass of seventy kilogrammes and moves at 2 metres per second.
We can work out absolutely nothing bar momentum.
I assume that media is the equivalent of energy in this system (after all, it's what fuels culture).
Need a tall, brawny fella to come by and inspect your pickle? Perhaps I may be this fella.Warmth, moisture and yoghurt fuel the culture in my fridge.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Well, we can assume that media is our constant, and obscurity is one of the variables to give an output of Hipster.

I need a new fridge.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Hipsters have so much visibility, I'm not surprised that somebody is counter-counter-culture.
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.I find the hipster and the anti-hipster to be more similar that they are willing to admit. If one aggressively avoids what's popular, they allow the mainstream to control them just as much as it does the person who runs towards what's popular. Of course there are actually perfectly good reasons for being either one. Sometimes a person is more interested in the culture that surrounds a work than the work itself. Watching a popular movie, for example, allows for the easy conversation starter of talking about said movie, while listening to an obscure band makes you much more likely to hit it off with another fan of said band than you would be to hit it off with someone who shares your appreciation for a more popular band. I suppose the whole point is to simply figure out who you are throughout all this, and don't let society choose your identity for you.
Dammit, I'm rambling again.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I'm glad I'm just an opera-loving metalhead with sci-fi tendencies. It's so much easier
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Hipster? Not... hipster? Cultured? Uncultured? Too... many... variables..
DOES NOT COMPUTE
<explosion>
Linguo! NOOOOOOO!
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I like to dabble in both the obscure and the popular... My two favorite stories of all time are The Idolmaster and Glee.
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.I dabble in the obscure and popular too.
Although, when the people in your school consider Naruto to be the most obscure anime they can come up with, I'm not sure what that suggests.
That anime isn't very popular in Brum?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I dunno about Brum in general. (Also, its ironic. Not many people in my school know that 'Brum' is a nickname for Birmingham, yet a Scot does..) I know in my school Naruto is the most obscure anime there. I get funny looks when I start talking about Azumanga Daioh or K On or whatever else, or am accused of making things up.
Obscure or otherwise really depends on the community one is in, anyway.
somethingTry asking the kids at your school whether Bayley or Di'Anno was a better front man. The ignorance will make you weep.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Hey, I've encountered groups of people who don't know what Neon Genesis Evangelion is.
Heck, even here, people can be media ignorant. I mean, most people in forum games need me to point out that Ultraman refers to the series from 1966, not the franchise overall.
somethingAs in the frontmen for Iron Maiden?
There's a bunch of rock music nerds in my school, and I occasionally associate with them. Not a lot, but we share a taste in rock music.
"Hey, I've encountered groups of people who don't know what Neon Genesis Evangelion is."
That'd be me.
Yeah, them. I hoped you'd know who they were...

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Don't ask me how I know. I just do. I don't even listen to Iron Maiden.
Hmm, perhaps "groups" want' the right word...
Anyway, many things are obscure in one place but very very well-known in another, anyway.
I'm like that towards some anime & manga...

something...
I've been the anti-hipster for years!
-goes off and cries about his lack of popularity-
oh, that's why I need this binary mind // ⌘i watch everything
so am i now an omnihipster
voiced by either Norio Wakamoto or BRIAN BLESSED?
@Ani. Ahhhh, dammit.
Well, they can't be perceived can they? That's the ultimate in counter-culture; you don't even technically exist.
