It finally happened. I knew it would eventually. The modern Bugs Bunnies and Mickey Mouses wouldn't qualify under the old regulations.

That being said, I really can't imagine someone giving Adventure Time the win. For certain reasons.

I think I read somewhere that this episode debuted in a movie theater. I could be wrong, though.

Yeah, they put an edited version of the episode without Finn and Jake in a small LA theater run, which is a qualifier for submission

They may only compete if the short or episode premiered in theatres first. This is why Michael Jackson's Thriller was eligible for an Oscar nomination.
