Vita lowered Graf Eisen as the birds came into view. She hadn't seen giant birds before, and while she'd certainly seen far more outlandish monsters that hadn't surprised her, giant yellow birds were a bit odd. They didn't seem threatening, quite the opposite.
"... Weird," was all she could come up with to comment on them. "Anyway, if we're gonna go to that city, we should get going."
She'd always been impatient.
Vita took note of the car... but she was already prepared for flight, and she'd always preferred flight under her own power to transport via car if she had a choice. The small red-clad girl lifted off the ground.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Perhaps, but I wouldn't expect them to be so careless," replied Harpuia, frowning slightly as he spoke. The fox like creature was one of the stranger members of their merry little band, but by no means was she the oddest. "Maybe things work differently here... but I haven't seen organic life in a long time; I'm not sure how they behave when they are in abundance. As the girl said, though, we have no time to dawdle - speed buys us more time to make decisions."

Makoto didn't feel the need to enter the car. She wanted to explore and have as much fun as possible! When or if they got back to Kagutsuchi, she felt there was going to be punishment. Might as well enjoy the freedom while she had it.
"Hmmm..." the girl walked over to the group of birds. She examined their legs, their heads, their wings, everything. "Ohh.. that's what you're meant for!" the girl then leaped into the air, plopping herself onto one of the yellow birds. If it reacted hastily or not didn't bother her, she just seated herself for comfort.
"Alright birdy, let's go! COME ON!" she edged the Chocobo, smiling a wide smile. She had a mischievous idea running around in her head.
GM Post
The bird that the squirrel hopped onto didn't react. Its supported much more weight than a lively teenage girl in the past. "Wark!" the bird cried as it burst into a run, heading toward Alexandria. The yellow birds were meant to be ridden. They were, after all, the primary ground transportation in this strange world.
Harpuia, while airborne, may have noticed a few things. The span of the city below and a large, vast waterfall that descends to a world shrouded by Mist below. The strange, blue substance clouded the view of the ground. If one could see through the vapor, there would be a large forest directly below the waterfall. The forest, creatively named the Forest of Evil.

"Makoto, don't bother them!" Noel called out to her friend, following her. After Makoto leaped onto one of the creatures and it took off, Noel stared, dumbfounded.
"...M-Makoto! Hey, come back!" Noel called. Oh, great. Now what?
Noel looked at the remaining birds apprehensively. Then back at Makoto. Should she...?
Well, it wasn't like she was going to catch that thing on foot. And since checking to see if the car had any vacant seats crossed her mind, Noel groaned inwardly.
With surprising ease, Noel leaped onto the back of another giant chicken, then looked lost on what to do. How did Makoto do it...?
"Uh, follow that bird?" Noel asked. "Please?" A little nudge with her heels, then a sigh. "How does this work...?"
Walter stared down in disgust at the vampire beneath him. Jan Valentine merely grinned up at him from where Seras had pinned him.
"Hey, I was just sight-seein', mindin' my own business and decided to come in and have a look. So we cool? Dude?" Jan laughed. Then Walter stepped on his arm - or, rather tried to. At that moment he found himself whisked away to blackness.
The old butler merely stayed back, silent during the time at the castle and during the first. He was far too confused and disoriented at the moment, perhaps due to his old age, to act coherently.
When the Chocobo appeared, he regained his bearings, and merely smiled. "Such lazy young people these days." He took off at a moderate run, which, for Walter, meant a speed rivaling the Chocobo.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?"Giant Roosters? How intriguing."
Seeing Noel and Makoto ride the animals, Koril felt it safe to mount one and did so.
"Let us hope you behave much like a horse for both our sakes."
Koril squeezed the bird with his legs, hoping to get it to walk.

Shameless Self-promotion ho!GM Post
The large birds weren't hostile in any way. Those who bumped them for a ride, they didn't mind. They jerk forward and began a powerful sprint toward the castle town of Alexandria. No monsters came out to attack them as the Mist began to thin out. It only took five or so minutes for the Chocobos but they arrived at the entrance. The birds stopped, making their "Wark!" noises. Some shook their heads, letting their feathers stick up.
Makoto
"Whoop!" Makoto leaped off of the golden bird. She looked straight at Alexandria then turned back to her bird companion. "Thank you, overgrown chicken!" the lieutenant then reached up, betting the bird's neck. The Chocobo didn't seem to mind which prompted Makoto to smile. "You're kinda cute." the squirrel pet the bird again.
"Alright, let's gooooo!" the girl whisked her tail from side to side. She then walked forward, making pace for Alexandria.
Koril chuckled amusingly as the bird shook it's head and sent feathers flying everywhere.
"Faster than a horse and far more docile, My world could use many more of your kind!"
The Scholar of space then petted his ride on the head before dismounting and walking towards the castle gate, waving his left arm to grab the guards' attention.
"Excuse me! Can you vigil guards please open the gate for an old man and his traveling companions?"

Shameless Self-promotion ho!The bird trotted onward, and Noel quickly gripped the thing's neck, fearing she would fall. Fortunately, she found herself quickly growing accustomed, and was able to sit properly upon it. She had even begun to enjoy herself when they found themselves at the kingdom already.
Disappointed, Noel hopped off the creature and patted the thing. "Uh... thanks, big guy. Gotta go now."
Leaving it where it had stopped, Noel hurried after her friend. "Makoto! Stop ditching me!"
GM Post
The old man called to the guards, which caused the two men to look over. "Huh? Oh.. um... OPEN THE GATE!"" they didn't ask for clarification, they didn't ask for anything, they must have been pretty lazy.
The gates to the large castle town opened up, revealing booming streets filled with activity. Small children played jump rope while workers painted buildings and hauled lumber. Women dried laundary, washed windows, talked to their friends.
"Welcome to the Kingdom fo Alexandria!" the guard said, straightening his helmet. "There are um... moats... and.. uh... shops and stuff." the man didn't know how to do his job correctly. Little did anyone know that this was the norm.
Makoto
"Oh, sorry Noel! I'm just.. enjoying the journey!" the girl said with a smile. She then reached forward and took the hand of her friend. She didn't waste any time sprinting into the now open gate. The people, the scenery, everything as so lively! The teenage girl was going to enjoy every moment of the experience and she thought Noel should do the same.
"where should we go? A weapon shop, a theater, ride the birds again? OH, how about we dive into the river?!" and then Makoto let loose.
Behind Koril's warm smile and nod of approval towards the guard, he was deriding the town's governance and security for being so... lax in terms of accepting travelers, especially ones as inconspicuous as he. But since this world was not a realm of battle and bloodshed, The scholar decided to simply go with the flow.
"My, such a peaceful and idyllic city."
The Scholar waved hello to the citizens as he walked through the streets, stopping when he heard a musical instrument he had never seen before play a tune inside a music store, tapping his foot to the beat; The Scholar walked inside and watched as the musician strutted his stuff.

Shameless Self-promotion ho!Lloyd hopped off the yellow bird when he entered the front gates, and he went off with the group. He was awed by the beautiful sight of the city, and he walked around the city.
"To be honest, I think I'm pretty hungry right now, so I'll go with what the boy said and eat something." Lloyd said as his stomach started to growl a bit.
Shutdown sequence initiated.Vita flew in after the others and landed in the city. It looked... medieval. Sort of. Maybe not, it was hard to tell what age it was from, but it looked like it was from some time period that the small red-headed girl wasn't familiar with.
"We should just get what we came for and leave," she said, assertively. She was impatient and wanted things to just get going so she could get home.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Harpuia had also followed the others to the castle city. During the trip over there, he found himself repeatedly going over the fact that the others were so damn weird, not to mention the unusual nature of the wildlife. Indeed, he was surprised the guards hadn't run away screaming when they first showed up at the gates. Then again, he probably looked just as bizarre to the rest of the group.
Landing close behind the group in a precise, gentle manner, he had to suppress the urge to roll his eyes when Vita made clear her opinion. Yep, just like Fefnir, he thought to himself, feeling slightly amused at the unexpected similarity. Deciding to chip in, he put away his beamsabres and put a hand to his chin in thought.
"That would be ideal... but looking around would allow us to gather useful intelligence," he said, frowning slightly. "After all, we are unfamiliar with this land and so we may fail if we charge in. Knowledge is power."
He noted that some of them, like the old man and the red jacket wearing youth, had already set off. He was tempted to shephard them back to the others, but he supposed that it was their decision, and they would reap the rewards or lack thereof.
Locking you up on radar since '09"Well, just don't leave me behiieeeee~" Noel stumbled as Makoto suddenly sprinted into the castle town, somehow managing to quickly regain her footing and keep pace with the energetic squirrel.
Makoto fired off a bunch of suggestions, with quite a few going for food. Noel herself wasn't hungry, and as tempting as it was to go ride those birds all over the plains, she didn't want to pull rank and ignore what they wanted.
...Did her rank even matter in different worlds?
Come to think of it, did they have to do the exact same thing? It was a large group, and the little sick girl would most likely gather them up again anyway...
"Hm... well, why don't we take a look around?" Noel suggested thoughtfully. "Just pretend we have a day off in a foreign country. And... not kidnapped and forced to skip work and possibly face harsh consequences."
It appears that the old man had made some acquaintances judging from the laughter and the now joyous tune being played on the harpsichord
.
"...And he wasn't even close to the finish line!"
More laughter.
I haven't had such friendly social interactions with people in years... Undertaking this journey is definitely a stroke of good fortune.
Shameless Self-promotion ho!Archer
Archer walked forwar and through the castle town. He didn't care for the monster that just attacked, he didn't care about the birds, he was just there. The man had no business for the ill-girl, nor with no one here. He just kept to himself.
Finally he felt the need to speak since Vita wanted to rush things. "So young, so naive." of course he was being sarcastic. "Someone as young as you can't possibly take in the sights and sounds of such a beautiful place." and then he kept going.
Makoto
"We don't have to pretend anything Noel!" Makoto said with a smile. "We're REALLY here and we're REALLY not working.. so.. enjoy it! Maybe we can get some clothes or something while we're here... hm.. I do feel a draft under thsi coat." the squirrel looked down at her black cloak.
The girl thought of getting some new clothes, maybe some armor? Nah, she couldn't move around when she fought plus there was no room for her tail.
The yellow muscle car that was Bumblebee swerved to a halt outside the town, opening its doors and allowing any people who were inside it to step out. However, the robot himself did not transform- after all, it seemed that the people here were more likely to be alarmed by a 15-foot tall robot than a car.

Harpuia shot a glare at Makoto's... unprofessional behaviour. If what she said was true, then her organisation was quite clearly inferior to the Cutting Shadow Squadron... or at least they weren't very good at selecting their members. He didn't have any time to reprimand her for her behaviour before he suddenly felt a disorienting sensation and collapsed, shutting down immediately.
One hard reboot later, and the reploid wasn't best pleased with his sudden bout of unconsciousness. Any comment died in his mouth as he realised they had changed locations entirely; there seemed to be a lot of organic life in this area, and the castle up ahead reminded him of a less threatening (and less impressive) Neo Arcadia Tower.
He hung around at the back of the group, and when the large monster made its' appearance he had scarcely time to react before almost everyone else had pounced on it and ripped it to shreds. In particular he was impressed with Koril's little magic trick and Vita's transformation and subsequent attack. The former fought like Hidden Phantom, at least if the teleportation was any indication, while the latter seemed to fill a role similar to Fefnir.
When the yellow bird creatures first appeared, Harpuia activated his twin beamsabers and rose into the air using his flight pack. The energy blades were perfectly triangular, and were coloured a neon pink. Strangely, his flight system made no sound as it held him aloft, making it appear as though he had been simply stuck into the middle of the air. Luckily, however, the avians didn't seem to wish to cause the group any harm, and so he deactivated his beamsabers.
"...I see the wildlife has no fear of us," he commented, trying to use his vantage point in the sky to check the path ahead for any further surprises.
