Then he looked over at Richard. "WHOA, somebody got a doctor, that man needs an injection of decaf, STAT!!" the Joker yelled, pointing at the crazed American.

"Heh. That's kind of true... Though I don't know how I even became something like that. I should look younger. We all have our kinks. We just need to find out why that is." The Dude who looks like a lady said.

M. Bison decided to ignore everyone else and follow Saber across the bridge. He had no patience for this debating when there was a bridge that needed to be crossed for him to hopefully regain his memories back. It's not like the bridge was going to hold much longer and if he crossed it before the others, it might collapse on them and not him.

Valvatorez had also decided to leave the prattling of the masses behind him in order to walk behind Saber, the girl quite gaining his respect with her straightforward attitude and Spartan-like self discipline. Nevertheless, he had another reason for following so close to the girl: If the bridge itself broke, then he would be close enough to aid her.

Let the others fend for themselves, the only people he had any desire to help were the queenly one and the child kin. Since Flandre could fly, that left Saber. Still, the vampire did not say any of his reasons to the knight, since she had her pride and all. He understood pride, and deemed those worthy enough should never have to lose it.

The word "monster" had Zedd in a confused stance, growling and holding his head for some time. His Z-topped staff turned into a snake in his confusion, which he draped around his shoulders.

Fiddlesticks shrugged, or rather made some crude approximation of that motion with his shoulders, and turned away from the Crypt Lord. Another scan of his surroundings revealed that another pod had opened itself in the interim, and there was a masked humanoid who had emerged. Fiddlesticks hobbled over and bowed, or again made some motion close to the human concept of bowing, and addressed the person he had yet to know as Vanitas:

"Master, you are one of many arrivals to a land that seems foreign to us all. While that one," jerking a thumb back at Anub'Arak as he spoke, "seems to be somewhat more out of it than the rest, virtually everybody else has already departed in some direction or another. I suggest we do the same."

A bridge, and the group of beings he had seen before. So, they had all been guided along the same path. Something was at work here... something old and powerful, perhaps even greater than he was.

He shook the thought off with a sly grin. It did not matter if there were such beings here. All that did was that he was of a higher order than most of those assembled, and thus would be able to enforce order on them with relative ease. That would do for the present.

After putting one foot on the creaking, decrepit planks of the wooden bridge, Sauron paused for a moment in thought. He had power, did he not?

Why could he not use that power to prevent an untimely demise on those rocks below?

Words came to him unbidden, and he chanted softly in an unknown language, his voice swelling with hidden strength.

I sing to the winds that blow across this land;
Move now and bear me swiftly:
Mairon the Maia commands you thus.>>

A gust of wind moved unseen, and he strode unhurriedly across the bridge without touching a single plank. Supernatural power cushioned his movements as he trod lightly on the currents of the air, as if on an arching pass of his own.

The new robot unsteadily made his way over the bridge. "All right, here we go. Over the rickety bridge. Oh! Little creak there. Ominous. But probably fine. Just so long as it doesn't, you know, start cracking."

The Lich shrugged. For some reason, he did not fear the fall. Grasping his Hammer even more tightly, he eyed the others suspiciously and passed the bridge.

Footprints? What left these?

The strange figure slowly followed the tracks away from the pods. Eventually it would lead him to the group that had left the area before him.

"Alright!" Richard Hawk shouted at the Clown and the dude who referred to Richard as an "American", "When our time comes, we will CHARGE toward the bridge, and NOTHING IS POINTLESS! AND THE REASON IS... Whoops, that's not my line! MIIIIIICCCCHHHHHAAAEEEEELLLLLL!!!!!"

Saber crossed the bridge with head held high, showing no fear or insecurity about its perceived instability. She couldn't show fear, after all. She had to lead by example. If she didn't, how would anyone take her seriously as k-

...Her thoughts came to a screeching halt. Take her seriously as what? She grunted in annoyance. The sooner she got rid of this accursed amnesia, the better.

She'd noticed that Valvatorez was floating beside her. He had proven a good ally so far, although she was still not sure whether she could really trust him just yet. After all, it was obvious he was one of the blood-sucking species, as was the young girl with crystal wings. By their intelligence and self awareness, they were possibly Dead Apo-

...Another blank. She knew there was something missing in her mind, but she couldn't remember what exactly.

"I know not why some of you were so wary," she spoke, to no one in particular. "Methinks there be more than a few cowards in our group."

Flandre, high above the bridge as she was, couldn't help but compare the people below her to ants. Weak, easily trodden on... something told her that she should have no difficulty stamping on them from up here... but why would she wants to kill ants? That didn't make sense! Even simple metaphors were getting derailed in the vampire girl's head; insanity and amnesia didn't mix particularly well.

After that maniac, who reminded him too much of... someone... had jumped out of The Emperor's arms before he could dump him himself, he noticed that everyone seemed to be taking the bridge. Always one to err on the side of caution - after all, he could hardly place himself in danger, could he? - he slammed the end of his staff into the ground, and vanished in a flash of light.

Another flash of light, and he was standing next to the strange man who had wondered across the bridge earlier. Not bothering to acknowledge him, he waited for the others to get across before continuing. He didn't know what lay between them and their destination, and some meat-shields might come in handy down the line.

As soon as Saber and Valvatorez crossed the bridge to the other side, the Joker went to cross the bridge himself......

But after taking the first step, he stopped. And then, he suddenly started.......tap-dancing?!

"Gooooood Mornin', good morning,

We've talked the whole night through

Good Morning, good morning to youuuuu!"

Joker started making his way through the bridge, dancing all the way and causing the bridge wobble left and right.....

"Gooooood Mornin', good morning,

Oh, it's great to stay up late

Good Morning, good morning to youuuuu!"

Another set of hard stepping that caused the bridge to ripple....

"When the band began to play, the stars were shining bright

Now the milkman's on his way and it's too late to say good night!

Soooooo, good mornin', good moooooornin'

Sun beams will soon smile through

Good Mornin', good Mornin', to you, and you, and you, and you!"

Joker punctuated each "you" to each person he pased as he passed on the bridge.

Good mornin', good mor-ooooorin',

We've gabbed the whole night through

Good Mornin'......Good Mornin' to you!"

Joker a BIG ripple after stopping suddenly and then said something so fast it was intellible.

"In the mornin', in the mor-oooornin

It's great! *tap* To stay up late

Good Mornin', Good Morning to you!"

Despite the bridge looking like it could snap at any moment, it miraculously held on through Joker's dancing.

"When we left the movie show the future wasn't bright,

But came the dawn, the show goes on,

And I don't want to say good night!

So say GOOD MORNING! Good Morning!

Rainbows are shining through

Good Morning, Good Morning!

Bonjour! Monsuier!

Bonas Dies! Bunus Greas!

Bonjourrrraaaaa! Artichonnnaaaa!

Then the tap dancing became even more intense, the clown dancing in some strange music that only the super villain could hear. In fact, if Visser Three and any telepaths would read Joker mind at this, there's ears would be bleeding from the incredibly loud Broadway style music blaring in their minds.

The bridge's integrity became even MORE in question as the Joker continued his show stopping number. Then he jumped into the air, and starting rolling like a ball on the bridge, then finally jumping into the air again, landing on solid ground on the other and sliding, ending with a pose with arms outstretched to Saber, as if presenting her to some unseen audience.

Daido simply mouthed the words "What The Fuck" as he saw the Joker tap dance. He then shook his head. "Screw it. The sooner we get to that tower and the sooner we find out who we are, the better!" Daido said as he began to walk to the bridge.

M. Bison had already crossed the bridge at this time as well, and watched the clown do clowny things. He was tempted to burn the bridge and watch him fall, but it seemed his own idiocy was going to do that for him.

"HEY! THE BRIDGE IS ABOUT TO FALL DOWN! WE ARE TOO BUSY MOVING, AND SOME OF US WILL GO STRAIGHT TO HELL!"

Richard pressed on to go across the bridge, taking step by step... Even though his yelling might cause the integrity of the bridge to fall down. Who knows, maybe a shout of some sort of different language might force Richard to let out a blasting wind and destroy the bridge, but since Richard is American, the bridge is fine for now.

Zedd walked across the bridge, although he was sent stumbling by Joker's vibrations. The snake returned to staff form as he staggered to the end, and pointed the Z on the end of his staff at The Joker.

"Insolent clown! You could have very well killed us all!"

The Master smiles. "And as a counter act... A one, a two, a one, two, three, four"

He starts to whistle and tapdance then suddenly breaks into song. "Anything you can do,

I can do better.

I can do anything

Better than you."

The Master does a mocking imitation of the Joker's voice. "No, you can't. "

He goes back to his voice. "Yes, I can."

He swaps between both. "Yes, I can. No, you can't. Yes, I can. No, you can't. Yes, I can, Yes, I caaaaannnnnn!"

The Master grins and waves to the Joker. "Anything you can be

I can be greater.

Sooner or later,

I'm greater than you."

He goes back to the voices. "No, you're not. Yes, I am. No, you're not. Yes, I am. No, you're NOT!. Yes, I am. Yes, I aaaaammmm!"

He starts to skip a verse "Any note you can reach I can go higher. I can sing anything Higher than you."

He goes back to the voices going higher and higher with each back and forth. "No, you can't. Yes, I can. No, you can't. Yes, I can. No, you can't. Yes, I can. No, you can't. Yes, I can. No, you can't. Yes, I CAAAAANNNN! "

The Master tries to flip his hair. "If you're wondering what just happened... I'm awesome."

The Master steps off the bridge as he thinks of what verse to go to next. "Oh I got it!"

He goes back on the bridge dancing more. "Anything you can wear I can wear better. In what you wear I'd look better than you. In my coat? In your vest! In my shoes? In your hat!"

The Master walks back to the Joker grinning. "Now THAT'S how we do it harlequin."

The man had enough of the singing and decided to cross the bridge. As he stepped on, the bridge swayed from left to right. Daido felt nothing. He wasn't afraid. He simply kept going. When he finished crossing the bridge, it was rapidly swinging from one side to the other. Daido looked at the bridge and then continued to walk, not caring if anyone else would dare cross it. He stopped and remembered how he never felt anything on the bridge other than a drive to go forward. He put two fingers to his wrist to check something. Nothing. There was no heartbeat. "Am... I dead?" Daido muttered.

"There is a time and place for everything, Jester." Valvatorez stated to the white faced villain, not amused in the least. "Though your skills in the art of musical theater are good, methinks a bridge is the worst place to do so. Same here, Young-Old-Man-Thing." He looked directly at the Master, clearly displeased with the one-upmanship he had witnessed.

He then regarded Saber as she stated there are cowards. "Indeed... there are those who still are wary of the darkness and the unknown. They aren't willing to change, nor take a chance."

The faceless figure watched the display from the side of the bridge everyone had started from.

What is with these people?

"Ye two," the Lich told the Joker and the Master from the other side of the bridge, "Be foolish. Do behave, lest I'll smash ye." He hefted his Hammer menacingly. "I do doubt that anyone here has any patience for yer jesters' antics."

"This is it! My Ascension, I'm being taken up! I will embrace the world!" Screamed the Great Emperor Solarius as he was regurgitated by the large, slug-like creature, known only to man as 'The Devourer'. The ground shook to it's very foundations as Solarius keeled over, blue light bathing him and the surrounding area. The Overlord viewed the process only a few feet away from the Emperor, unafraid as the events took place before him.

The Elven Emperor threw his arms out, the blue light flaring brightly. He screeched as there was a sudden explosion of magic that took out the entire plaza that He, the Devourer and Overlord were standing in. The Destruction was catastrophic, all that was left of the Elf and the Devourer was a large puddle of blue, slimy liquid. After all of this, the Overlord still stood, unharmed before the destruction. A woman walked up to his side, taking in the events that had just unfurled.

"And so it has ended. The cycle starts afresh...I hope you don't expect me to clean this up. Men...can't destroy without getting everything all messy..."

Evil always finds a way.

The Overlord awoke. His eyes glowed through the darkness under the helmet he wore, he noticed he was in some kind of...metallic cocoon? Looking down, he saw that he was wearing a full suit of armour, and clasped an axe to his chest. Wait, an axe? Why did he own an axe? And why was he wearing armour? Or the more prompt question, who was he?

To anyone left around the area of pods, they would see a large axe rupture from one of the remaining ones. The Overlord tore himself from the pod and stood, viewing his surroundings.
