You forgot to jokingly edit that post.
I do this constantly. I'm a bit of a Serial Tweaker.
"In the land of the insecure, the one-balled man is king." - HavenIf there is a typo or something I have to add on, or if I get ninja'd and need to change my arrows.
Usually not too often, though. I'm pretty good at proofreading. 30%, maybe?
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderI do it quite a bit, actually.
I also don't really like the edit stain. It looks so... odd. Eh, I don't know how to describe it.
There's a thread for a forum preview button here
.
I edit my posts fairly often, though not as much as I once did.
(When I first started posting here, I edited almost every post I made.)
Heapers’ HangoutCompulsive Serial Tweaker here. I'll even go back to posts made weeks earlier to correct some minor error that nobody cared about, simply because I can't let stupid mistakes stand.
Also, I never get my phrasing right on the first try, and I only think of the right words / potholes after the fact. Like so.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. It feels alien, really.
I think it should be like most forums and not register an edit made right away after posting.
Oh, and the edit dates are registered in order to avoid orwellian editing for both readability and moderation purposes

A majority of the time due to ninjas - something as simple as changing the number of arrows.
Sometimes due to fix or improve my posts, or to add new content or to reply to more posts.
Now using Trivialis handle.Generally, I proofread as I go and catch typos in time to backspace them. So the only times I edit are:
- If I get ninjaed, and have to shoehorn in a response to a post that wasn't there when I replied (Example: Tacking on "@Idler20: Welcome To TV Tropes" at the end of a post that otherwise wasn't directed at Idler20).
- If a trope name has changed on me, or the trope doesn't exist anymore (in which case I'll put in a Pot Hole to Permanent Red Link Club in order to make the link blue) or it's my fault the link is red because I'm not always as good at formatting as I think I am.
- If some other formatting besides links got screwed up somehow (Example: I'm now putting the word house in blue every time I use it in a post — this link will explain why — and the first time I did it, I learned the hard way that forum coding is slightly different from Wiki markup where colors are concerned).
I don't edit for Blue-and-Orange Morality... no matter how fucked-up it is or how much controversy it causes, my honest opinion remains in every post I've ever made here.
Jesus saves. Gretzky steals, he scores!

I never edit my posts. EVER.
