^ That was my reaction too! This short was fabulous!!!! I now have it on my Youtube account's favourites so that I can watch it and rewatch it over and over again until I buy it. :D
I also had the sudden inexplicable compulsion to move to Berk to hang out with Hiccup and Toothless, and ooh my word, Berk was just so beautiful in the short!! I can't wait to see what this franchise does next!!!! :D :D :D
I'm actually glad they decided not to go that route. If they ever want to really address the issue of Toothless being the Last of His Kind, it should be in a proper sequel. This was fine for now.
The video is gone now. Shame.

Looking for some stories?Aw just saw it! That was absolutely fantastic.
Let me just say, it was probably the funniest thing I've seen in the past week, I couldn't stop laughing at all of it, haha. And the ending was just flippin' adorable and cute. I'm very satisfied. Maybe I've listened to the soundtrack wayyyyy too much on my own, but I think the recycling of music is... kind of weird.
I too was expecting Night Fury babies, or at least a mate, but the ending was really, really satisfying. Love the emotions they give Toothless in that scene
And one of my favorite parts of the short was in the beginning, when Hiccup walks out and he talks to Toothless and mocks him and gives him that affection. Their relationship is gold.
I originally was really upset about spin offs and sequels and whatnot, but if they keep the quality consistant, I have no problem with it.
Dream Works: "Well, gee. A whole year without any Dragon?! Good heavens! Better scramble up a Christmas special in a non-Pagan Viking village at the last minute! Ho hoooo!"
They've also had winter holiday specials that took place in China, so... yeah. Not really the biggest stretch they've ever done.
Anyway, bought it on a whim. Liked it. Hiccup's really shaping up into the guy leading the village into their glorious future, isn't he? When it comes to dragons, it seems like he can turn any tragic situation into a happy one. Ah, the things that confidence can do for you.
Astrid... not so much. Maybe she ought to leave the "forging new dragon-related traditions" bit to Hiccup. And take up the "forging new badass-related traditions" instead.
There's a deleted scene where one of Astrid's new traditions is for anyone walking under the "missing-toe" to get a punch in the face. I was highly disappointed that this didn't get into the final cut.

Astrid. OH U.
I haven't the money to spend, but I want to see this now. Hmmm.

Watch it before it gets removed
