It's an edit of this which is a joke based from this.

Indeed it makes perfect sense, and why don't they make ads in this style any more?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Because it's "old fashioned" and so worthless for advertising?

Nonsense! Lots of people love classic stuff!

Try telling that to Ad executives.

Yeah that was more why they don't do it more.

Good news! Fuzzy says that Chapter 26 and 27 of Murky Number Seven have been written, and 26 will be posted in about a week.

It's been a long hiatus...

I need to catch up on that.

Hm. Thinking on it lately, it occurs to me that with the exception of Velvet and Calamity, the party members in the original FOE didn't really interact with each other all that much. Mostly they just interacted with Littlepip. I guess that kinda makes sense, given that SteelHooves and Xenith weren't the most sociable folks... or am I remembering wrong?

Nah, I think you're remembering correctly. It wasn't a touchy-feely kind of party group, that's for sure.

Finished chapter 2 of Memories. Definite improvement over the first chapter.

Whether or not I find myself caring about what happens to Frosty Winds remains to be seen.

Yeah Like we said.... just treat chapter one as some kind of fever dream type thing due to stress or something.. only the braid strokes matter.

The rest..... yeah act I has a ton of continuity flaws, and not even bothering to disguise that things pop up where and when Frosty needs them just because the story needs it to to keep going. BUT.. it's all a lot of fun to read.

Writing quality improves a lot in Act 2, but the second half just... barely matters. It drifts off into random events plot levels of one wacky encounter after the next. Each it's own Big Lipped Alligator moment.

Act 3.. didn't like the first chapters because.. reasons. It got to dark, to serious, and felt forcefully and artificially so. But the last few chapter have been SO damn good.

But yeah keep going, it gets better, and Frosty is just.. such an adorable little ball of crazy.

There'd better be a very good explanation for why slavers are attacking the Steel Ranger base, because I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense.

In any case, I'll be kicking up the liveblog again.

Well, keep in mind a lot of things in th3e first act happen for the same reason "The plot says they do."

[up][up] There's a very good reason for that.

Well, there was until edits changed things, so now there's an adequate reason.

I maintain plausible deniability for all early problems by pointing out that I was only brought on for Chapter 4 and onwards. The other editors (all of whom were locked out of the Google Doc quite a while back now) were the ones who primarily dealt with 1–3.

In retrospect, no wonder Bobulator was desperate for a new editor.

Ohhhh yeah.. and pannic... it does start getting noticeably better after chapter 4. So yeah it does show.

I'll have to check the two chapters and see if there's mention or setup with regards to the slavers.

I'll make a liveblog post this week, after nearly a year of disuse. I think I'll give a ramble in there as to what makes me care in an action scene.

[up] There's a very good reason why the slavers are attacking the Steel Rangers that's revealed in Ch. 3.

At long friggin last, a Memories update. It's been a while.

Well, a few months between chapters isn't actually that much compared to most FO:E fics (or fics in general) but it still felt too long.

#13975: Jun 27th 2015 at 3:52:52 PM

[up]Well, given that it looks like it had published at a fairly reliable rate of about a chapter every 2-3 weeks for a long time before the last three updates, I can understand why it would feel that way.
