FUCK NO!
Immortals was such absolute bullshit. Please, let it be anyone else. Michael Bay would be better.
Hmm...I think either Quentin Tarantino or Zack Snyder would be better. The former has done Kill Bill, while the latter is pretty good at making cartoon-like movies.
Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing. The on-set photos of Mirror, Mirror are breathtaking. A Samurai Jack movie would be a visual masterpiece.
Just give him a good script (I could imagine David S. Goyer writing) and we'll be good to go.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/The Dark Knight? Batman Begins? Blade? The new Superman (if he's so bad, then why is he co-writing)? Awful director, I can accept. But he is definitely not an awful writer.

He definitely is. He was apparently the one who decided the plot had to be restated a dozen times(in the dumbest of ways) in Freddy Vs Jason, and the quality of the Batman films is due to Chris Nolan, who he said was the one steering the ship there.
I suppose I can give him Blade, but his output is ludicrously uneven at best.
And I don't see why you're bringing up The Man of Steel; that movie hasn't even been released, and shitty writers get to work on tentpoles all the time.

@ Prowler: Freddy Vs Jason had like nine different writers. You could blame anyone for that film, not just Goyer.
Also, Goyer wasn't even credited (meaning that he probably did a rewrite and moved on).

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Just hope for two things, really:
1. The actor playing Jack is actually Japanese, or if we must compromise, some sort of East Asian. If Jack ends up being played by a white dude, movie is ruined in my eyes.
2. They somehow make the silly Aku actually sinister. That is going to be quite a challenge! Really the only thing about Aku that never worked right in my eyes is that despite his awesome voice and Bad Ass henchmen, The Man himself was as sinister as a muppet. It is a bad thing when the main antagonist is less awesome as the Monster of the Week.
Other than that, so long as they are willing to go over the top on the visuals, I think it could be a great movie.

There were only three on the script they used; Damian Shannon, Mark Swift, and Goyer, and his name is on one of the last drafts. I saw the script before Goyer tinkered with it, and while it still wasn't going to make for brilliant cinema, it wasn't as stupid as the alterations he provided. If we want to banter about whether or not he's a terrible writer, it can be done somewhere else.
Samurai Jack and Tarsem Singh...I dunno. It could be interesting...to say the least. I haven't seen Immortals'. I watched the first couple seasons of the show when I was younger, and then never saw it again.

Oh don't get me wrong, he is a great villain - if you go by personality and not by actions or looks. The problem is that really, most of the time he took on Jack himself it ended up being less than awesome. Like, for example, the one episode where Aku fought Jack with nothing but kung-fu - he looked ridiculous, sadly. It really shows in some episodes, too, where Aku's henchmen clearly outshine Aku himself. Like that one episode where Aku raised a bunch of skeletons and undead to fight Jack...then showed up and killed the mood utterly with his silliness.
And the difference between Aku and The Joker is that the Joker is Affably Evil, while Aku's main flaw is that he is a spineless coward who refuses to face Jack himself. You get a lot of Orcus on His Throne vibes when it comes to Aku. Aku would totally work, though, if he looked silly as all hell (which he does with his GREAT. FLAMING. EYEBROWS!) but actually held his own against Jack instead of getting badly injured then running like a dog with his tail in between his legs every single time he faced Jack man to man.

Well to be fair to Aku, he only looks weak when fighting Jack, and that's because Jack both has been through years of rigorous training to specifically defeat Aku, and even has one of the few (if only) weapon(s) that can effectively harm and kill him. So it'd make sense that Aku would be hesitant to face Jack head on. Whenever he fought someone else (including Jack's father in their first go round) it was usually a Curbstom Battle in his favor.
But then again, who would be awesome enough to play Aku? And also Jack for that matter?
GUNDAMU GUNDAMUThere's only Billy, Stephen and Daniel. Any other Baldwin is not related.

Admittedly, he very obviously does not have the same voice as Mako, but I think they're similar enough. Of course no voice could replace Mako's. That guy's voice was on the level of Don La Fontaine's.

THIS. MUST. HAPPEN.
