So yeah. While I agree with the sentiment that the first half of the episode was better, that's more a statement about how goddamn great it was than on the second half. I thoroughly enjoyed the God/Satan thing. I just didn't think about what it meant in terms of morality and argument and took it to be funny jokes.
But goddamn. Hearing "Ready to Die" warmed my heart. That's got to be one of the best pump up songs out there. There's a reason it's Kenpachi's theme music in Bleach S Abridged. And no surprised it segued so well into the opening theme, they're by the same guy (seriously, Andrew WK is used so much in Abridged series. It honestly strikes me as odd).
Seriously great episode. Enjoyed it immensely, even though I hate seeing his souls go bye-bye. Farewell, Rip van Winkle, you underused treasure.

I'm glad they didn't do some of things suggested in here since, besides the debates that opens up, it just makes God look insecure. Better to just keep the attention on Alucard and making clear he's accepted in instead of being petty and wasting time trying to justify himself.
Improving as an author, one video at a time.I thought that it actually did a great job portraying God as "omniscient, but not infallible in the sense that he just plain doesn't want to have this conversation that he knows he's going to have." I never felt like Alucard "won," God just didn't feel like stooping to his level. I didn't interpret it as "Alucard's edgelord Hollywood Atheist arguments won" so much as "God humored Alucard's edgelord Hollywood Atheist arguments exactly the same way a real life person would respond, basically going 'okay' and moving on in an argument that is as productive as arguing against an angry wall."
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Pretty much the above as said for me. To me, it's not a matter of winning or losing and I feel it would make God look petty if, in a conversation, he prioritized validating himself over trying to actually help someone in pain, even if he know they'll refuse.
One route portrays God as compassionate while the other comes off as insecure because "Oh no, someone is criticizing my plan because it involved them getting raped for 10 years! I must prove my moral superiority!"
I'm agnostic myself, so if they had done that, I'd just view that take on God as doing some of the self-righteous things I get annoyed with some religious people for. By not stooping into an argument like that and maintaining patience and compassion throughout it all, it created a more respectful image for me and showed actual integrity that arguing about his integrity wouldn't. And that's something I do respect and why I liked this more.

Improving as an author, one video at a time."ROWS of teeth. Like a shark!"
I died.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.The original implies that Walter didn't really betray the Hellsing Organization, so much as that he was actually always betraying them. We never find out exactly how the Valentines knew so much about the Hellsing compound's layout, nor how the Captain actually "captured" Walter. And he's pretty chill about fighting Alucard for the Nazis.
Presumably "The Dawn", the prequel manga intended to explore that fateful Warsaw mission where Walter and Girlycard were believed to have ended Millennium once and for all would have gone into more detail about what made Walter turn. But the author just kinda stopped writing it in 2006.
Personally, I suspect that Alucard was a stumbling block. Hirano had the Herculean task of needing to have all of these Millennium f*ckers survive the attack on the compound which could potentially be explained by Walter's betrayal, but the problem is writing it out in such a way that Alucard and his broken-ass powerset doesn't somehow know about it.
At the very least, you'd think Alucard would be keenly aware of who did and did not die in his presence, so getting him to think that Millennium's well and truly destroyed while all the major Millennium characters sneak out the back door or some shit is next to impossible to plausibly write.

Like, the "paid vacation days" thing works too, but still.
Granted, I dont think the Hellsing family and organization extinct and Alucard stuck trapped in the basement forever would actually be something Millenium wanted either. That doesn't sound like the Major's idea of a War.
Walter just seemed like he wanted to dick everyone over.
Like, considering how Walter sacrifices himself to destroy Millennium, Doktor and Mina (and himself) after Alucard dies forever* the thing in this episode about him being a "Vampire Hunter first" actually really makes the most sense.
*Yes, I know not really.**
**Still a bit hypocritical with Seras still around, though.
Are we sure Walter didn't kill the Major though?
Like. Yes, he's still alive. But there's a plausible explanation, for that.
Maybe Walter eviscerated him to a point even Alucard could think it did the job.
As long as Doktor's still around.

...Actually, if I were writing it, it'd be funny if Walter sliced the Major's head and body to ribbons, and the part of his brain left behind that Doktor didnt grab were parts associated with motor skills and accuracy.
...Still hella unrealistic for the Major to be alive afterwards, but if it's Doktor, then fuck it.
One thing I thought was a nice touch that I hadn't seen mentioned anywhere else: The flashback at the start looks like it used footage from the original Hellsing anime, not Hellsing Ultimate. Sort of like when a does flashbacks in black and white or sepia or some other way that makes it abundantly clear "this is in the past"

I'd assumed it was gibberish due to her having her mouth blown open from cheek to cheek, but the subtitles are terrible this episode.
I'm also loving Walter's retort to Kenshiro's catchphrase. I just... it's so simple yet I've never heard anybody use that in a parody before.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

Huh. Sounds a bit like him, but I honestly couldn't tell. And he isn't in the credits...
but HOW?
