Getting up from the bench, Noah made his way over to the fountain, seeing Brittany scolding a young boy. He walked up to her and jokingly said;
"Having trouble?"
Brittany sighed and answered o him;
"It's these kids. They keep misbehaving, and there's no one here to look after them!"
Noah laughed at her flustered reply and said;
"Of course there is... you."
Noah then motioned over to William, and whispered;
"Hey kid, whatever you're doing to get her so annoyed, keep doing it. This is hilarious."
Liena eyed the people talking to the children. "Did you hear that?" She reached out to point to them, but stopped herself halfway through the action.
"Yeah, that man is acting like a little bitch." Vancer muttered in a very hushed tone.
Read my stories!Noah sighed. It was moments like this that he was happy that there was a 90% chance of him being infertile. Still, this proved to amuse Brittany quite a bit.
"I didn't mean on me..."
His attention however, was caught by the child who had started crying. Turning to Brittany, he asked;
"What's wrong with him? Did you do something to scare him?"
Brittany thought for a moment. Neither of the children were muc intimidated by her, so for him to start crying seemed extremely odd.
"I don't think so..."
They both motioned over to Alex, Noah asking;
"Hey, are you okay?"
Brittany was shocked by the child's strange conclusion.
"I did what?!"
Noah simply laughed and jokingly said;
"See? I can't take you anywhere!"
He then patted the kid on the shoulder and said;
"She didn't turn you into a zombie... she's just a regular human!"
"No... I'm not..."
Noah's good mood was brought down by that statement. He had always felt some guilt for what he had done to save her life, but he never regretted it.
There was a hand on his shoulder, far too close to his neck. He flinched back, instinctively, even though he was already a zombie and there was no point. He nearly lost his balance and nearly fell into the fountain again. What was the point? He was already a zombie, it was not like another zombie could hurt him. His arm did hurt, though, even though he thought that zombies could not feel pain.
"She said she was a zombie, and that you were one too. That's what she said." Said Alex.

"Sorry, I misheard you," said Cornelius. "It sounded like fighting, but if there isn't any or they have consent... it's less animal cruelty and more like a dog show." He glanced down at the Wani. "Where the dogs have six eyes or are sizeshifting dragons. I apologize for any misunderstandings."
Looking back to Zach, Cornelius asked, "Do you know any reason for shapeshifting, or is it much too complicated for you? I can shapeshift with magic, but we're ruling out magic in your case."
Fuck it, posting.
Another individual came wandering into the memorial, albeit aimlessly. The truth of the matter was that Natalie had no real personal connection to such things, but certainly enjoyed taking in the scenery. She could appreciate beauty and sacrifice.
Really, the only reason she was in DC in the first place was a gig at a club tonight.
Her appearance certainly suggested someone meant for someplace other than a solemn memorial. She was clothed in bright, vibrant colors- a light blue sleeveless turtleneck and matching flats paired with light beige short shorts, though she'd had the sense to wear a fleece jacket to provide her some warmth. Her charm bracelet and anklet both featured beads and trinkets of all assorted colors of the rainbow. She definitely seemed like a party-girl type.
The redheaded girl briefly noticed the small group of people. They seemed interesting, so she decided to edge over to try to listen in on their conversation.
“DAMMIT WHEN I HEAR 'SPACE CQC' ALL I CAN THINK OF IS BIG BOSS WITH A FISHBOWL ON HIS HEAD, STRANGLING AN ASTRONAUT OUTSIDE THE ISS."Zach waved his hand, "No need to apologize, even some people in New Terra still don't understand it sometimes, it's understandable."
Zach put the Wani down, "The reason for sizeshifting and shapeshifting, is kind of weird. You see, all Yokai are generally really big in size, but whenever they change form or size, the mass is dispersed into an energy cloud, which follows the Yokai. I'm not exactly too clear on how it works, but thats the gist of what I know."
"... Okay, shooting a zombie in the head stops them."
Noah stood up and motioned to Brittany, who took a gun out of the holster by her waist, and fired a shot which pierced Noah's skull. Noah was barely even stunned as the bullet flew through his head, coming out on the other side. The hole it had left in his forehead quickly closed up, as he developed a smirk.
"See kid? I'm immortal, but I'm not a zombie."
Liena started to drag Vancer. "Look at the girl with red hair, Vance! She looks like Amy!"
"Amy dyes her hair, babe." Vancer pointed out, straightening his shirt.
"Does she?"
"Uh...no, that's natural."
"Are you sure? I think we should ask her."
Vancer widened his eyes.
"Uh, babe, that might not be a good idea..."
Read my stories!Cornelius nodded. "I see. That makes some sense; in fact, it was one of the theories on how shapeshifting works in my world, but certain tests disproved that. We're still not entirely sure, but now we're leaning towards, 'It's magic.'" He chuckled. "Not the best of reasons, but it's still one of the few that works."
He grew insightful. "I wonder how that works, though; are the atomic structure rearranged? That would be hard to see without magic. Hmm."
Zach laughed, "Yes, 'It's magic' explains everything, until science proves otherwise, but I digress. Though, maybe the Yokai are aliens and it's part of their biology. I mean, we found that the smoke stuff that comes from an Akuma's legs is a fluid that turns into a gas when it comes in contact with an oxygen, giving it the illusion of being a spirit, but actually being some a possible defense system or ambush method. Truth, can in fact, be stranger then fiction, having seen a Shinigami, which has a scientifically explain reason for them being able to pass through walls and stuff, I would know."

GOD DAMN RETARDED INSOMNIA!!!
Zach rubbed the back of his head, "We don't make them fight, that's forbidden by the N.T.Y.F.A., the New Terra Yokai Fighting Administration. You can't force them to fight, you can only gain the consensus of the Yokai and having them fight without consensus, results in the immediate revoking on ones right to both fight and the person receiving a thorough background investigation." Zach took a breath, it was hard to word things correctly, "Only the Yokai can choose to fight, that's primarily why there are so few trainers for Yokai, most of them are pets. Every individuals is different though, some choose to fight for their own reasons, and I don't force him to fight," he pointed toward the Wani, "It was his decision, not mine."
Zach breathed out, "I'm sorry if it seems like animal cruelty, I can only try to assure that it isn't." Zach thought for a second, "Though there is a reason for shapeshifting and sizeshifting in Yokai, it's kind of weird though."
Okay, now I'm seriously off to bed.
