Oh, we have one of these. -Migrates the thing he mentioned in the other thread-

I wonder if it's too late to mention a particular system that no self-respecting ODST should be without: TSAS.

Tactile Sensory Awareness System, a threat detection system that was being developed by the US Navy about 7 years ago. Never heard what actually came of it. It uses radio to detect IFF frequencies. When it picks up a hostile IFF, it activates a vertical strip of vibrating discs in the direction of the threat, which then change position relative to the threat.

VISR system, blah blah blah, conversation already happened on other thread...

Still, the reason I gave an hour between briefing in drop was so it would be enough time to have everyone say something, before the actual drop.

That reminds me. I need to have Zippy do something.

[up] That would be advisable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Hunters and Drones have yet to be encountered yet, yes? I believe this is the first battle Hunters are seen in?

Depends on how you want to view the canonicity of Halo Wars.

And that one story of the Spartans that encountered that drone penal colony, I forget when that took place.

I like to think of it as canon - partly because I love the game and I'm not too greatly integrated into the canon of the games nor AU so I'm not aware of plot holes.

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

It's a shame ODST multiplayer is limited to 4 and only has male models with actual ODST armour on. Else we could have tried to set the whole squad up in Firefight.

Then Hunters were encountered on Harvest and Arcadia.

Bungie says the games have priority over the books, so any contradictory information is overruled.

Plus, Fall of Reach has a lot of outdated information. It had elites not appearing until Reach, when almost every other preHaloCE source has elites showing up (mostly because Spartans ROFLPWN everything else)

I knew from my job that there's no setting off a nuclear device accidentally, but I didn't have the heart to point it out.

I find it an honor to have Nahum already be hated not even twenty posts in.

If no one else has anything to say in the briefing room, the actual drop will start tommorrow afternoon.

Then the fun begins.

Any word from those who haven't posted yet or are we going on without them?

I'll PM them, and ask them what's going on.

Post will be up in a half hour. Last chance for banter before we get accelerated through the atmosphere at greater then terminal velocity before advancing through hostile territory held by creatures which can pick us up with one hand and crush our necks like stale crackers.
