When I first heard the song, I assumed the Wolf wasn't to be trusted, then I listened more closely, and he sounded sincere enough, like it was a generic love that used the story as a metaphor for a guy who looks like he shouldn't be trusted, but is actually pretty sweet.
I can't point to any parts that don't back up the latter, but I'm now wondering if it isn't supposed to be ambiguous. At the very least, I think the howl that gets corrected to a "Baa" might point to the idea that however good his intentions, he can't actually control himself as well as he thinks he can.
what do you think? Lean toward one opinion or another? Something I hadn't thought of? Am I overthinking?
