"Hi, everybody," Qrlil said dutifully. She smiled, and walked out of the water to sit next to Xavier. Glancing over at Lucas, she inclined her head. "I am pleased to meet you, Lucas," she said politely.
She looked back at Xavier. "So, what have you been talking about?"
It should be noted that, if Lucas can only "hear" by reading people's minds, he may have difficulty understanding Qrlil.
Also, good night.

Shinako opened her parachute as well, arms in the air, with Melissa following suit, as they floated down over the Resort.
"Watch out below!" Shinako said, drifting into the beach next to the group of Xavier, Lucas, Qrlil, and Saliha.
Melissa landed on the Pier, where some maids helped take off her parachute.

Nadezhda lifted up her sunglasses for a moment, noticing the three inflated parachutes in the sky, and Shinako nearly crashing into the group. "Skydiving? How pedestrian." she said, putting her sunglasses back on.

He started as Xavier oh-so-casually mentioned his issue to these people he'd met two seconds ago but was too surprised to interrupt. He found words again and said, "What are you doing? You weren't supposed to, I mean, why did you..." he trailed off. Just because I told you, it doesn't mean I'm okay with—this isn't something you just throw out like... He rubbed his eyes with one hand and stuck out the other. "Nice meeting you. You don't have to ask me anything. Really."
He glanced at the parachuters as they landed on the beach. Great. Xavier'd better not tell them too.

Xavier stared in surprise at Lucas. "But... but you said you didn't mind telling me, so why should these people be any different? I even said if you didn't want to tell me — after you made up your mind, remember — that you didn't have to. But you went ahead and did it anyway, so I assumed you didn't care that much about it. If you didn't want me to tell anyone else, you should've said something like, 'Don't go shouting it from the rooftops.' You might be able to read my mind, but I can't read yours."

Qrlil glanced at Lucas, a bit puzzled. Deciding that it would be best to stay out of the conversation (argument?) until she knew more, she simply blinked and said "Oh."
Turning to the newcomer - why is someone parachuting onto the beach? - she dipped her head slightly in greetings. "Have we met? I am Qrlil."
Beach
"Skydiving?" Qrlil said dubiously. "...I think I will stay with swimming, if it is all right with you," she said.
She sat down on the beach, giving a pleased hiss as her legs sank into the sand. This is certainly more pleasant when you can feel it directly, I will say that. She glanced over at Xavier, wanting to speak to him, but not to interrupt. I suppose I can just wait for a moment. It's not as though this is not enjoyable as it is.

On the other end of the beach, The Prince was standing wit both his feet firmly planted on the ground. Hmm... that landing wasn't all that bad... or great, either... now, I wonder where Shinako landed... His Question was answered very quickly, as he saw Shinako running over to him. "Great, there you are!" he called out to her as she arrived.
"Well," Julia pointed out, "you have to meet people somewhere, don't you?" Then, following the train of thought, she added, "what kind of work do you do, anyways?"
Avea was about to mention this question had come up before, and even opened her mouth to speak, but decided against it before saying anything.
Julia was a bit annoyed she'd stuck with the same story, but such was life. There was more to her, Julia knew it. But what? Maybe if she asked for a few more details...
Seeing Julia's mind working, Avea quickly said, "ah. Sounds... well, I can't really say. It's one of those things we don't quite have where I come from...
Julia interrupted. "so, when you say you've got 'rowdy' friends... sure you don't have any fun stories?"
Siv's eyes widened.
"Ooosh. That's a rough question."
ABORT MISSION. ABORT MISSION.
No. Calm down. Jeebus.
"Well, there really isn't anything. Mostly people fight a lot. Trying to compete over the...promotions...and stuff. Especially Rona and Koby. They argue a lot. That's really all there is."
This was horrible conversation material. HORRIBLE. She should be ASHAMED of herself. Ashamed! The most ashamed most-likely-british-person EVER!
"...I have a friend who eats fried crickets?" Siv finally managed to sputter out.

oddlyJulia stared, looking slightly ill. Finally, she said, "fried crickets? That's... odd."
Avea turned to Julia with a mystified expression and said to Julia, "well, how else are you supposed to prepare them? You have to cook 'em somehow if you don't want to catch anything, and they'd get really soggy if you boiled them..."
Julia replied, "uh, I meant eating crickets at all. And... hold on, I've never actually seen your people eat crickets before."
Avea said, "it's a Kykzavi dish, actually. My dad makes it every so often, but importing the right crickets can get expensive. Oh, xau, you've made me hungry..." Avea tapped one of the waitresses and said, "could you bring us some stir fried crickets? I hope the chef knows the recipe..." Looking around the table, she added, "looks like I'll be the only one."
Julia grimaced and said to Siv, "er. Anyways. Any other fun stories? Preferably ones that won't make Avea there hungry from something gross?"
Avea said, "this from someone who eats cheese. Seriously, that's just wrong."

Avea looked incredulous. Her voice filled with disgust, she said, "where do I start? First there's the cows themselves..."
Julia leaned in and whispered to Siv, "oh, and she's lactose intolerant, but even if she wasn't..."
Meanwhile, Avea continued her rant, "...big, dumb, smelly beasts! Seriously! The stench! And you're going to drink whatever comes out of that thing's teats? Why? What desperation could have possibly possessed some Earthborn to steal cattle's milk? And what madness would make them enjoy the stuff? It's just plain unnatural! And that's just the milk..."
Julia cleared her throat and said, "uh, we get the point."

Xavier shrugged at Lucas. "Maybe, maybe not. Who knows? There are loads of coincidences. And Vincent would go on and on about how large a coincidence it is that we're mostly all from Earth anyway, an-"
He glanced up and saw Qrlil and Saliha. "Oh, hey. Lucas, this is Qrlil and Saliha. Qrlil, Saliha, this is Lucas. Say hi, everybody."
